You can cover that perlite with a thin layer coir. It’s really not doing anything uncovered, aeration wise.

I needed to add more anyway it settled About 3 inches lol. Should’ve leveled it with the top of the pots! I saw this interesting place to put one carrots seems like it wouldn’t work right sideways but what do I know.

I do know there’s more old info than new. But it seems pretty simple with the preset heads. I’ve watched a dozen different videos. It used to be a pia to calibrate. I’m gonna wait for the meter to set up the system. gonna have to transplant before then tho. Probably do that tomorrow. The coco isn’t soaking wet anymore.

I’ve never seen a carrot through the side before. That could be a good way to measure root moisture in a raise bed.

Damage stopped and sealed off. Bottoms looking like being consumed and new growth fine. Looking good all on track. I’d pluck them lowers.
