I currently have 7gals pots, I can’t find any 5gals near me.
After the last mephisto genetics videos I want to try 5gals for my autos.
If i want to transform my 7gals to 5gals, how should I proceed? Put 5gals of soil and cut the top of the pot that has no use? Leave it?
Or put 5gals of water?

I personally would just fill them. Wont hurt. Can help. More than likely the 7 are not much larger in diameter than a 5 and not a lot taller. 2 gallons of soil wont make or break the grow.
welp from what i’ve gathered / last meph genetics videos it seems useless to go 7gal.
Would save the nutrients / soil and also would be easier when in seedling stage.

Those are true in a way, consider useless to the plant might be useful to the grower? Maybe at their peak watering every 4 days instead of every 3.
There are challenges of watering a seedling in 7gal but also exist with 5gal anyway.
If I wanted to use 5gal soil I’d just roll-fold it down if it soft enough, or cut it, but it might fray then youll just get one use out of it. Whatever works for you, it’ll work for the weed
Always choose your own path. Just giving a response from experience vs youtube. I typically dont argue and wont here. I will point out you are not quite as correct as you believe. Good luck in the grow and we are here to help.

I’m sure i’m not correct, still experiencing with autoflowers! My first attempt was a failure in a 7gal pot, wondering if a 5gal would be easier to manage!
Photos for the win, but too mush hassle rn for me with a 5+months grow.
