What is a good distance for my 5 day old seeding. The manufacturer says for this stage 24" minimum. I dropped the light to 20 and even 16 for a day each. I put it back to 24" because I got nervous. The light is very cool even with the back of my hand a couple of inches away. What do you pro’s think? I’ve never grown with a led light before.
Would like to know more about the light. I have a HLG 135w qb I had at 24 from seedlings. Now its 27 inches from canopy in veg.
Welcome bro! I go by what my seedling is telling me. If she’s stretching I’ll drop it down if it’s staying short you could raise or stay where it is. Post up some pics and some more info on what your grow involves.
Welcome to the community.
Seedlings don’t really need much light. I don’t know that I would put it any closer than 24".
Thanks for your opinion
It’s a 135 watt led in flower mode. Girl Scout Cookies Extreme this is day 4 or five since she popped up
I can’t believe how quick you guys responded. Thanks
Thanks for your reply
No problem. I’d say about 24 but you will find a happy spot and the seedling will tell you. Happy growing!
Pretty little girl there, welcome to the neighborhood. Everyone seems to have you fixed up just wanted to welcome you and maybe leave a thought in your head. I haven’t used those rooters that you have there but I watched a friend lose a few seeds in them, I guess it’s pretty easy to overwater them. Just wanted to mention it maybe one of the others here or you for that matter will have more info on them. Good luck
I’m being very careful not to over water, thanks for the tip . Nice to meet you.
Day 12 and I transferred little cookie to a 5 gallon pot for a pot. This is my first grow. She looks good, any comments from you kids would be appreciative.
Only thing I see in question is your humidity is very low, babies like soil a little dry and the air a little wet. Other than that everything looks perfect
I would like to raise the humidity, I have a big pitcher of water with the cover off, but it’s not doing much? Where I live in the North East New England area it’s very dry this time of year. Any recommendations? Thanks for your opinion
You can hang a wet towel or two with a fan circulating some air around em will help bring it up. Also I was just on another thread and the guy was using those jiffy capsules like you have and one of the guys recommended to cut the cover from around the outside of it before planting it
Thanks MeEasy, going to try the towel trick.
I just realized I can buy a humidifier for less than $50. I understand I will need to fill it often but that’s ok. What do you think?
I have a similar problem out here in the northern Midwest, pretty dry air this time of the year.
I picked up a little humidifier for around $40. The reservoir only holds about a gallon and I have it cranked pretty high, I fill it twice per day and am able to maintain humidity in the range between 30 And 50%… although it stays Closer to the 30%.
My first grow in a very long time is now in flower, 12/12 … anxious to see the progress from here…
I live in the desert southwest of the US and I have problems keeping up with the humidity. I haven’t had a chance to do the research on this but I was told that you could make a humidifier of cheap that would work better than any store bought unit. It’s made out of one of the Rubbermaid tubs you should Google it at least before you buy one because the store bought ones don’t really do shit for my humidity. It runs under 20% most of the time here
I will look into it, thanks again.
