Disgusted, Dismayed and Disheartened

I cut down my Northern Lights 4 days ago. They had been in flower for almost 7 weeks. At least half of the pistils were amber and the trichomes were milky.

I began trimming today. What did I find? I found there are HOLES in the buds! LOTS OF HOLES and I have never seen so many red hairs. The holes look like homes to seeds but there are no seeds in them. THE HOLES are insulated with the red hairs, oh so soft and fluffy! By God, these are beds of spun silk for those crystalline clusters of what look like baby seeds that, what, are about to occupy them?!? Jesus, Joseph and Mary! Disgusted!

The buds are nothing more than red hair, holes and crystalline clusters of shit!! I did not see this coming!

I have hermied every crop, for lack of a better word, that I’ve started for the last 2 years! I have planted hundreds of seeds, each fresh start was going to be the one where I got it right, implementing all my newly learned said-to-be better ways of doing things! Is this seriously happening AGAIN?!? Dismayed and Disheartened!

Does any of this sound familiar to anyone? Do the pictures I’ve attached ring any bells?

Are there any masters in the room?

Just looking at the buds the plant needed quite a bit more time 7 weeks flower is basically 2 thirds of the life of the plant. That seems to resemble like a landrace strain sativa Dom from looks and if that’s the case it’s only less than half way done. This is a huge reason for all the holes u see and being leafy as the bud hasn’t billed up yet or filled out. Does not look her ie at all. U wanna basically chop when all the pistil hairs are changed darker colored and recede back into the calyx some. Seem to be a bit off as the pistils r super long still. Don’t be discouraged. Shit happens and will always happen. The plant looks like it was growing rather well from the. I’d looks just need quite a bit more time. Buddy.

I’d smoke it!

seriously, they look well cared for. you did a good job, try to focus on that. and a landrace sativa is one of the hardest strains to grow.

i’m not sure what your plans are but if you dont want to smoke it, at the very least you could make some edibles. maybe a qwet and make some wax.

you weren’t going to junk them, we’re you?

I’ve grown Northern Lights outdoors back ages ago when it was the strain everyone was wanting. However, My pistils weren’t quite that long. Now, the buds did tend to be airy when the shorter plants were shaded out by the taller plants.

The plants were P and K hogs though. Once I started seeing buttons, I really focused on P and K. Basically top dressed with bone meal and low strength compost tea.

I think you were well on your way to some killer colas and after washing the harvest, I wouldn’t hesitate to smoke it.

LOL, I’m a glutton for punishment, but I would’ve had to take some cuttings for clones and continue to tinker with that strain. Looks like you had the potential for a standout harvest!!
