Your cool man, asking the questions I wanted to know anyway.
It looks pretty awesome actually , I just want to make it’s healthy, and if possible how to control it.
Any advice on the smell?
How about Aqua Flakes ? Should I be good to run it the whole grow just adjusting the ratio of each part until the end? 50/50 and when I need more p&k I can change the ratio to say40/60 ext…
It’s only on the outer most few branches . On the stems only. The closest branches to me when I open the tent.
I haven’t seen any in the deeps of the canopy,
What could this be? It crumbles off the branches; not like fine powder but crumbles off in larger pieces, and when I say large that’s in comparison to its small size
I’ve seen this on a few others plants, it seems like it’s a natural production of a wax, or sap like substance. Doesn’t seem like anything to worry about though. @2DeepNutrientCulture
Ah great , yes I feel like I’ve seen this before and it doesn’t show same symptoms as PM.
Interestingly, on my res lid, below the canopy, there is a good amount of orangeish colored splatters. Completely dry, I was thinking maybe some sort of sap or something was falling from canopy ?
So the power went out for 6 hours last night and I learned a good lesson. Have a back up plan!!
Needless to say I think all is well since it was only 6 hours, but I will be coming up with an emergency way to aerate the Res if power goes out again.
I also had a large PH drop from the fresh res change. I must have not let it settle long enough, and added a little to much ph adjusters.
It dropped down to 5.0-5.2 for about 14 hours or so. I think this is the cause of my new issue.
Most all the new tips are yellow. On my last Res change I upped the ppms by 50 as they were eating quite more nutrients than water before.
I really doubt all the sudden this feed burned the plants ? 550 ppms ams 800 ppms depending on scale.
Like I said before, I was feeding them 1200ppme during veg when randomly the ppms went from falling 100 a day to rising slightly. I also had the odd light colored growth, so I then decided to cut the nutrients in half. And work my way back up. Which is what I have been doing.
Going into week 3 or 12/12 now and only the slight increase.
I feel like the 14 hour ph drop did this. The lights were off for 12 of those hours so I was unable to do anything about it.
I’ve cut back down to 500ppms and I’ll see how they react.
Is the neon green new growth considered normal? I always attributed this to lack of maturity in leaves but I am curious your take?
As stated before my probes are encapsulated in the roots. I’m currently using the average between the 2 meters to get my reading. I’m also using 2 Vivosun pens to check ph and ppms when topping off. The pen is pretty close to the TrolMaster, but not dead on. I’m curious if you have any recommendations on what I could do about this? I mean 3 checks should be plenty no? Lol I guess I’m just so used to calibrating them, it’s killing me haha
To keep adding , my LED is currently at 80% it’s a good time to crank to 100-%
As far as the led light goes, does anyone have any tricks on how to hang this bad boy so that I eliminate the 12” or so of height above the light ? The Ratchet straps are killing a good foot of height for me
Forgot address this.
I think the new growth stands out more mostly because the older growth is already a deeper green. They will mature eventually to match the rest of the canopy.
There are a lot of variables for rapid growth, but the big 3 are Humidity, temperatures, and nutrients.
They are still stretching like crazy as you can see… I normally don’t like taking off any leafs once buds are developing but I think it is needed here. The canopy is pretty dense ?
Annnnnd somehow that plants have now grown 38” since flipping to 12/12 4 weeks ago.
Jesus Christ.
Already touching the light and the buds are barley starting to show.
7ft tall is just crazy for how much training I did. I was also still breaking branches, essentially super cropping 2 weeks into 12/12 still. I’ve stopped training them for 2 weeks and they grew upwards 3ft.
Wonderful.
What should I do? They are showing no signs of light burn or stress. The tops actually look very healthy. I have about 6-8” above the light to raise still. But will I run into issues if I don’t leave any space above the light for proper air flow?
What really causes light burn? Is it really the light intensity? If I measure the lux outside it’s the same if not higher than in the tent, so why wouldn’t they get burned outside ? Sorry I haven’t done much diggings on LED light spectrums and burning.
Peep these photos though. This is from my security camera… nothing has been moved, plants just grew into light. Cant see shit anymore. Crazy Sour D
The plants are apparently going to stretch for forever. They are officially touching the led strips. Wonderful I know.
However the ones that are touching look great, no cupping, no clawing, no bleaching.
However, almost all the bud tips, even the lower ones, seem to have very light almost yellow growth on the tip of the buds. I don’t recall ever seeing this. Maybe it’s apart of the buds maturation process ?
I also do not think I will be messing with the light fixture, as one false move and the crop is smashed. It’s not easy getting behind 7ft tall plants in a 7ft tall tent, when they are also 4ft deep and 5ft wide,
Apart from that, I trimmed off a ton of lower bid sites and large branches yesterday. I cut maybe 50-60 large branches, and the plants didn’t slow down one bit, looks like they grew about 2” over night.
Roots look great.
I’m now calibrating and using PH and PPM pens to check res and do changes as the in line probes are still stuck in the roots, and the PH readings are a good .3-.5 ph off.
I still use the TrolMaster app to track climate and to see trends of the Res I know if the PH rises too much, even if it’s off, there’s something wrong.
