@Newt COME ON TX…LOL
@Graysin @Retiredoldguy @Newt @OGIncognito @dbrn32 @kaptain3d @Bunger64 hey growmies im tagging peeps that i think grow from seed. I currently have my seeds in a bubble lined envelope that ILGM sends you in the darkest coolest closet in my home. My question is how do you or what is the preferred method you use for long term storage as i have a case i purchased to separate and store my seeds in and just wondering how everyone stores their seeds until ready to use
I place my seed packages in a cedar cigar box and keep them in a refrigerator. Not sure this is th3 best method, but it definitely keeos seeds viable for a long time.
I put mine in a Tupperware container in the fridge
I’m with dirty Dave, Tupperware container in fridge.
Congrats to those that partake in Delaware.
One more down, …come on Tx.
I leave mine in their original packaging in a closet. Not cool or anything, but dark and dry.
I’m in the cool dark place in original package with Graysins
I use one of these, in a dresser drawer.
@dbrn32 @dirtydave @CMichGrower so you guys dont worry about condensation with them being in the fridge at all? This what i purchased for my seeds i know ill have blackout the top but thats not an issue, not sure if wifey (the boss lol) wants it in the fridge , but as long as i keep it in a cool dark place they should be fine you think ?
Cool and dark is the key.
@Graysin yeah thats kinda how i have mine as well at the moment
I don’t really see any condensation in my refrigerator unless it’s from placing something warm in it.
Modern refrigerators remove moisture from the air inside. As long as your seeds are tightly sealed its perfect for storage. We keep a small lockbox with the weed tools and grinder, scissors, a few baggies of ground weed for the vapes. Seeds are stored in that box in their original clear tiny baggies. They are still viable after two plus years. Stable without excess heat and you should be fine.
@Spiney_norman thanks growmie i realky appreciate the input
The RH in my fridge runs at a consistent 16%.
I sure hope keeping them in refrigerator will keep the seeds viable for years because I have a seed buying problem. I have 141 seeds from various suppliers, but only germinate about 15 per year. I can’t begin to tell you how hard it is not ordering more seeds when deals on new varieties come along.
Recently germinated some three year old seeds from ILGM and had 100% germination rate.
It truly is a struggle
