After some trouble with recent grows, I got a dehumidifier for the grow room, budrot was the problem, so I’m hoping that it will help that, after reading the posts about dehumidifier/ budrot I’m pretty sure how to set it up, so all say to empty the tank or bucket from the drainage of the dehumidifier, so the question I have is , can I plum the" waste water " in to my system, I have a reservoir tank outside the growroom, In Australia I call the system flood and drain , I’m putting about 25 litres a day in the reservoir, also emptying a 20 litre bucket, I’m not a scientist but has anyone tested the" waste water " can I recycle it , my air-conditioner drains on the lawn and its green so ? Any information about this or what should I get to test it, thanks in advance
20 litre bucket is from the dehumidifier
Should be equivalent to distilled water.
Yes you can use the waste water from your dehumidifier in your humidifier because it’s sweat it’s like distilled water
You beat me to it
I mix my dehumidifier’s water in with my well water. I don’t produce enough from the dehumidifier to use exclusively plus I want the minerals in my well water. Its use does reduce overall PPMs
I would check the water ph. I started using the wastewater from my dehumidifier on my plants and immediately started having problems. I checked all of the water jugs I had and all read between 4.5 and 5.5. Easy to fix, but mine definitely wasn’t like distilled.
Did you check the ppm of the dehumidified water? It is my understanding if ppm is very low, pH readings with the type of equipment home growers use are unreliable. I think ppms need to 100+ in order to read pH.
I didn’t check ppm, honestly didn’t think about it. I’m starting to refill my jugs again for an upcoming grow, I’ll definitely check it. Thanks!
I tried checking the pH of my rain water. I am of the Acid Rain age. It took forever. Put my PPM meter in it - only 15 parts/M. Took another sample a week or so later. PPMs still below 20.
I just checked mine-94PPM and 5.6ph.
Thanks for info, I will check before I use it
