So I’ve always been a pretty firm believer that defoliation does more harm than good and never really did too much of it. However, Everytime I see something against it, I see something that makes me feel like maybe it’s a good idea. I usually do purely outdoor grows, this time I’ve started them off inside and they are getting a little more bushy than I’m used to. Idk if growing inside has any affect on the bushyness or not. I also have a lot of three leafs that I’ve been thinking about cleaning up to maybe get better light penetration. So I’m pretty torn… I’d love to hear some opinions on this!
I should have gotten some pics with the lights off but these are at 7 weeks from seed.

I’ve had some plant really stunt when I’ve cut them, especially when they were young like yours. But I’ve also had same grows where had some nice big colas from cutting. Honestly I’m still on the fence. I get about the same yield when I cut from when I don’t. I just like to see my big buds when I do.
Topping is a different mater though. If you don’t you could be maturing many different heights and given the different light intensity they will mature at different times. You defiantly want to spread the plant to as even and as wide as possible when you do flip.

I did top the front two in those pics and left the two in the back untouched. They were struggling at the beginning and their just now getting stronger. I’m also fairly new to topping, I’ve only done it the past couple of grows. How many times do you usually top? I’ve only done one top at the main stem. I get nervous doing too many… I am trying to spread them as much as possible now with plant ties now. Is it too late to do some more topping?
Go with that route topping to many times actually make your colas smaller.

Well after this set I’ll let you know. I really butchered my plants today. Bubblegum in week 3 and Black Indica (L) is just forming pistils now.

How long from seed? What caused it to take so long to form it’s pistils?
I was playing with some plant hormones and it probably threw off there cycle. (gibberellin) Flipped 3 weeks ago.
