Deadhead's Grow Journal

The flower children (AH & NL autos) in the tent are coming along, too. I wasn’t as tough on them because of their growth stage, just some training clips.

The smaller gal in the front is another vegging AH, and she’s looking kinda kinky, too.

For future reference, when these two grows (shower stall & tent) are done, the tent’s getting a 250–watt Migro 3 Array. I’ll move the 150-watt Nextlight fixture into the shower stall next to the 105-watt Bestgro light. More than enough coverage for both footprints (24"x36" tent, 27"x27" stall) during all growth stages. White Truffle, Vietnamese Black, and AK47 photos gonna get a lotta love this year.

Speaking of lights, I’ve gotta tip my hat to LED Grow Lights Depot (May 2025 Discount Codes, Coupons, and Promos for LED Grow Lights — LED Grow Lights Depot). Erik’s a great guy to do business with.

One more new toy arrived in yesterday’s mail, a POV One vape kit, and the One leaves my little Yocan HIT in the dust. The flavor and aroma it conveys is incredible. I wouldn’t have known about POV or LED Grow Lights Depot if not for this forum.

Just one pic today of my alleged NL auto disguised as a sativa. Hard to believe that I gave that cola a 90-degree bend a couple weeks ago. In fact, I overdid it and darn near broke it. Saved the day with a little piece of duct tape, which I removed today.

I’ve been remiss in my tracking, but she’s about 4-5 weeks in. Buds are still small but very tight and dense, and are starting to stack. Traces of color and trichomes becoming visible under magnification.

Time to kick back and play with my new vape.

I’m gonna “editorialize” some. Reckon I can do that; it’s my journal ain’t it? So take what you need and leave the rest . . .

Anyway, I’ve learned butt loads of new info here, usually just from running a search query on this forum, before I post. Almost every time, I discover that the topic/question has been discussed/answered before, often multiple times. It’s saved me a lot of time.

In the course of my sniffing around, I’ve stumbled across mountains of cool stuff, like @Low’s lighting discussion and @Hellraiser’s side by side comparison of two popular nutrients. Fascinating to read.

In that respect, this forum is a lot like something Forrest Gump said: “Life is like a box of chocolates. You never know just what you’re gonna get.”

@Hellraiser has some great journals I think this one was his best
He has a great way of explaining everything and answered everyone’s questions usually over and over until they completely understand

Have a great day everyone! @Deadhead your NL looking good

I had to get that cola’s vertical growth under control again, and to do that, I had to impose some more bondage on that bad girl (plant on left). Nothing too extreme; just some elastic binding to cage and redirect her naughtiness while talking dirty to her. I gave her a good feeding, too, using the FF trio flowering recipe. Must be doing something right, because I swear those pert, upthrust buds of hers have grown 20% larger literally overnight. She’s a real hardbelly, this one!

More good news. My new Migro Array 3 250-watt light should be here tomorrow.

Congrats on the light your girls are going to love it! :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

And I commanded, “Let there be light!”

And lo, his sweet young things cooed with delight as they spread and stretched eager limbs skyward; their pert, upthrust buds firm with desire . . .

Both spaces be rocking and rolling with 250 watts of dimmable, full spectrum, x-rated hijinks now.

Life is good!

Believe it or not, I wasn’t a Harlequin Romance novelist in a past life. LOL. Just a creatively frustrated tech writer/editor, IT geek, proposal manager, occasional freelancer, dirty old hippie boy trying to have a helluva good time while I’ve still got the time to spend. Besides, after getting my girls lit, I got me lit with whatever the leftover bud bits and kief are and a can of Shiner Texhex double IPA.

Okay, now that I’ve got my weed grow space kinks ironed out, I’m thinking about a little windowsill vegetable gardening. Bought some seeds today - cherry tomatoes, radishes, green onions, lettuce. Everything else I have. West-facing window gets full sun from noon til sunset this time of year, but can supplement if needed. Here’s the initial setup. Gonna add soil and sow some seeds later today. Suggestions welcome, since this is new to me. Always grew veggies outdoors, but fifth floor condo living makes that a non-starter.

Morning brother
Can you use the light you removed from the tent to supplement the window sill grow?
You probably already know this you can top and trim the tomato plants similar to cannabis

That one took command of the shower stall. I’ll figure something out. Meanwhile, I got dirty. Left to right: cherry tomatoes, spoon lettuce, and one row each of green onions and radishes.

Heck, I’ve got plenty of red solos and a few 3-gal bags to play with, too if needed.

Recycled leftovers back in action. Maybe I’ll have some homegrown salad fixings in a couple months.

A little background info: My 55+ condo complex of four five-story buildings was originally built as apartments in 1966-67. When converted to condos for individual sale, the once-open balconies were enclosed. There’s no insulation except what’s provided by the windows (Pella) I replaced and the honeycomb blinds. Eventually, I’m gonna demo the slider and cover the exposed top, sides, and bottom with some sort of wood trim.

Gonna be awhile before the salad bar is open, but as you can see, I’m extremely busy supervising all the work in progress. The salad bar’s also gonna double as my seedling station.
