I have 4 plants in a grow tent. 3 are SS and are about 2-3 weeks from harvest. The other is a Bruce Banner and I’m harvesting it today.
Can I cut it down and hang it in the tent with the other plants even though they are still in 12 hour light cycle? I’ve read that you should hang plants in a dark room while drying. What is the reason for this?
It’s a small plant that I’ve struggled with and frankly I’m just glad it made it this far.
In the dark helps the chloriphyl come out and helps the sugars start their curing process. 48 hours of undidturbed dark for 1st 2 days of hanging is my process. More experience will add to this im sure.
Happy growing
u can use a cardboard box, go to a furniture store and ask for a big empty box,
get as big of one as u can find and hang your plant in it in as big of pieces/branches as will fit in the box, if the box is big enough u can place it on its side, poke some wire through the side/new top, this makes the ‘top’ a door to access the plant in the box, as long as your room’s RH is 40-50% u do not need to vent the box, the cardboard will wick the moisture from the plant into the room.!! just check it every other day until it is crunchy dry.!
large paper bags work also, they sell big ones at any lawn and garden store.!
if u do not have the room for a large box the bags will work, just a little more difficult to use.
u can cut her up into pieces that fit into any bag/box,
not ideal but it is better then hanging to dry under grow lights.!
I’ve heard about using paper sacks. So maybe I’ll cut it up, put in the sack then put the sack in the tent? I need the light to keep it warm. Maybe vent the sack a little.
I suggest you follow @SlowOldGuy s advice my friend. Been growing a while and box or sack, don’t need to vent it. When it feels crunchy and the stem snaps not bends. Put the weed in jars with boveda packs and burp them at least once a day for three weeks. After that they don’t have to be burped at all. If they smell like hay after 3 weeks and not
You’ll have to get the real experts to help you.
Thanks for the advice. It’s in a sack and the Boveda is on its way.
I felt like I had just run over a squirrel when I cut it down. My wife took a little bud (yes, they’re all little) and put in the toaster for a minute and proclaimed that was close enough and tried it out. Well, we both did.
Very nice.
