Dark Red trichomes?

I have some dark red trichomes. Are these red due to the strand being purple Haze? The plant is healthy.

I cant remember what causes it. I know it can be caused by dyes in the water. But I think a lot of it has to do with genetics of the plant

So on the maturity part of things, would the red be equal to amber when judging the harvest? Like when the are red does that mean they are ripe if that makes sense?

I honestly couldn’t tell ya. Sorry

It does look like you’re about there though, I see some clear but not much so I wouldn’t say more than a week or 2

I’m guessing on the lower end of that. A week most likely look at all those cloudy trichs. Maybe the red ones are amber?

Yea definitely give it a couple days then check again, but I would be preparing to harvest any time now

Yea I wonder if red is in place of amber?

If it is cut her NOW. I would find out somehow

There is still clear, and there the tips of the tricomes aren’t red, just the hair portion. Like I said, I would wait a few days until the clear tricomes at least turn milky. and then harvest around there.

You’re supposed to harvest when 70% is milky and 30% is amber. I still see 10% clear and 2% amber Like 3 or 4 red heads. @steve2 do you care to explain why you say that.

Aolelon - harvest is a personal choice - depends on what a person wants - get high (all cloudy) ; relaxing (1/2 amber/1/2 cloudy, ect

Yes but they are not all cloudy so…

But youre right it is personal choice, there would be nothing wrong with harvesting now, maybe a minor potency loss but I doubt it, I just like to harvest when all the tricomes are at least cloudy, and have read at a minimum they should be when you harvest.

you are right - ideal-ly one wants a 100% cloudy, this never happens; you will always have some clear trichomes - if a person get 75%-85% cloudy this is real good, generally once amber is spotted and is when one wants to start considering harvesting for potency
