It is normal coloration among some strains.

Could also be the temperature.

Have you sprayed with any pesticides recently?

Lots of posts about this in the last few weeks. Consensus seems to be pigment.

Thanks for the help everyone. I assume it’s just a pigment just curious because it wasn’t on all of the branches just a few of them.

I have my outdoor plants under shelter now because they are starting to flower, hopefully I can prevent Bud rot. Getting off and on rain showers just about every day. Here are some pictures of my set up. next year I will be putting in a greenhouse.

If you run your finger over this does it transfer to your skin?

On mine there’s no transfer.

2 different plants that I’ve run before AOC /Candy Dropz cross , numerous times. Always have a branch or 2 show the purple and grow out fine.
End up with purple in the buds most times.

This is a tip from white cookies.

We had some rain before the pics.

That would be my only concern. Leaf pigments aren’t going to wipe away on your finger but a fungus would.

Does not rub off on my skin, it’s like a stain on the plant. Not all branches have it, just a few.

Just wanted to give an update. My Buddies Gold Leaf…clone of one I have going. I am seeing no signs on the parent plant… Noticed in late July on tips of branches…no ill effect on the plants.

Here is what it looked like a few days ago. At least a foot taller and healthy.

Is there a name for this purple stain? or even what causes it. if anyone knows please let me know. Does not seem to affect the plant and I had it on my plant last year and the buds seemed perfectly fine. Just curious on what it’s called and what causes it.

Just genetics, what’s the strain? That’ll tell you everything you need to know

The purple that shows in plants is because of a compound called Anthocyanin :ok_hand:t2: that’s what makes all plants/veg/fruit purple  same case for them all, and likely carries the same traits with regards to anti inflammatory etc

It is a Gold Leaf

Yeah pretty sure I’ve seen a few gold leaf go purple like that :ok_hand:t2:

The strain that i have is heavy mist. Had the same thing happen last year with that strain.
