Hello,
I had 4 plants dry and now in mason jars. I put Bovida 62% packs inside going on the second week now. One jar blue dream buds are more dense and smell amazing. The other three jars have the 62 packs in them but are sitting at 47-50% RH ? The buds are very crispy and big but light weight. I burp them a few times per day. Something seems off. Or am I just being impatient? The Blueberry which is the pic at 53% RH smells SO amazing!
That Blueberry looks amazing ![]()
Im still learning drying and curing so keen to see what our mates say. @Hellraiser @repins12 @Cannabian @Arrow @MrPeat
I did a quick experiment and turned the room heat on and as the jars temps got warm the RH went up to 66% real quick. This tells me the jars probably shouldn’t be so cold. Doesn’t allow the Bovida Humidity packs to do there job. The cold packs are hardening but when they warmed up they got soft inside if that makes since. So apparently I just have to control the temp seems 75 degrees holds them at 60-62% RH. Hope this helps others. I’m so happy to learn new stuff every day. This is the best PTSD hobby ever. I’m feeling great. ![]()

During the Curing process do not put Humidity packs in.
Why is that?
I’m not sure still learning. I think from what I have read so far you try to get RH right first and then add humidity pack to maintain % @MrPeat please?
There are reports of loss of terpenes when Boveda Packs were used during cure. Not sure if there is any data to support it. I do use them during cure and have had no issues.
There is probably information out there similar to cigar storage (where Boveda got it’s start) and if any analog I would say 70F is the target temp during cure if you want to read correctly. Also those meters are only close but not exact so can be off by 5%.

Rh… relative humidity… a relationship between the available moisture in the environment ( jars in this case ) and the temperature. Look up RH its quite interesting. Most people know about RH but have no understanding of how it works.
It’s really fascinating. I’m lolking firward to diggin in and learning all I can. Thanks to all and I look forward to share and learn.
You have been covered ![]()
…I start using boveda packs after 3 weeks, just to maintain the Rh…I also store in freezer long term …![]()

From four plants yield was a half pound. New babies are poping out of the dirt. Goal for this four plant grow is 1 pound. Ideas on stay with 20/4 or 18/6 light schecule. Light is Spider Farmer 2000 and medium is cocoa w/ 5% perlite. Dry organic ammendments are gaia green 444 for veg and 284 for flower. Any advice greatly appreciated!
I wouldn’t put too much stock in 62% as a magic number.
It’s your weed and there’s a lot to be said for personal preference.
I know that I prefer my smoke to be in the low 50% for humidity, I actually find those 62% packs to be a little moister than I would prefer.
That said if I’m pressing rosin having that humidity in the 62% neighborhood definitely improves yields over having it dryer.
