Cure necessary for edible plants

This isn’t really an auto specific question but I’m not sure where else to post it.
I have a bubblegum auto almost ready.
From what I am reading the cure process is for a smooth flavorful smoke. I plan to use my harvest for edibles is a cure necessary for flowers used in edibles?

You could use bud right after they dry.

The cure is more than helping with a smooth smoke. The curing process is more for potentcy in my opinion. The bud ages over time and gets more potent. Kind of like aging wine or bourbon.

I’ll give an example. I harvested a blueberry plant. I started to smome it right away. I wasn’t all that impressed. It was good but nothing to write home about. Three months into the cure I decided to give it another go. So I toked it like it was fresh. I was so freakin high I couldn’t stand myself. I now proceed with a little more caution.

So yes you can use the bud right away but you’ll lose out on potentcy. I say this with a with a healthy supply. If I didn’t have that I’d use it right away as well.

Thanks for the info. I was wondering if the cure also affected potency.
