Hey guys got another question as I’m just now entering the flowering stage with my autos I wish they would have grown a bit taller before starting to flower but that’s my fault with having to transplant and being a newbie and not taking the right steps at the seedling stage but oh well you live and ya learn right? Lol anyway I wanted to ask you guys about curing your flower I’ve seen alot of different forums online about this and what I’m wondering is do I HAVE to cure my flower? I’ve seen people say no you can just dry your flower for 6 to 10 days and then then your ready to smoke the only bad thing is its gonna be harsh smoke and other people say you need to cure your flower or there could be possible health risks? Somebody said if you smoke uncured flower you can experience flu like symptoms. I just wanted to know you guys experience with this and if you have ever skipped the curing stage and how it worked thanks!
Typically, if you don’t cure it will smell and taste like lawn clippings. The amount of curing can very based on moisture content, method, etc. Try some and see and put the rest in jars to cure, unless you like it.
You should really allow a two-month slow cure for best results as far as stoney , taste and everything in between… unless you spray your plants with something really crazy you should not have any kind of ill effects …weather you smoke it green and freash cut or you smoke it after it’s been cured or you did a quick dry on it… it may be a little harsh but as far as you having flu-like symptoms … sounds like somebody did something that they shouldn’t have and tried to smoke it… you must understand anything that you do with this plant is going to be ingested by somebody either inhaled or taken into their body and consumed , so you should always take that into consideration as far as what you plan on doing or what you are doing to your plants…
Growing is one task but curing is the primary key to good quality. I do my curing in 3 stages, I trim wet after cutting than I hang for 7-10 days, than I check the stem like most but instead of the stem snapping I like my to bend but not snap and then I trim the buds off the stem and place in a brown paper bag for another 3-5 days than I jar them for about 4-6 weeks opening the jars 2-3 times a day burping the jars but I keep the buds in a warm humid place. Now if you drying you can used your grow tent if you not going into another grow are a cool dark closet, but in your grow tent you can control humidity more plus you have fans to keep air moving over your buds. But it’s other methods this way works for me pretty consistently.
This is all very good advice, but you are making hash and you want your weed nice and dry for that. Hang your weed up side down but clip all your fan leafs off and hang for a few days and clip the rest of the leafs off and
keep your trim in a paper bag. after hanging till the stem breaks trim all your buds into paper bags close the bag and shake them twice a day for 10 days keep in cool area when there nice an dry make your hash and your trim should be ready to. Keep us posted on your hash making
