@DankBank22 Thank you sir! I would appreciate that and if you would like one of my military payment receipts I will send it to you for your collection! I know that you would appreciate it so I will give you one for your collection if you would like! It’s your’s brother just say the word!
Just wanted to tell both of you, thank you for your service and sacrifices!!
@CoyoteCody Thank you sir! I wish you the best with your land buying endeavors! There is alot of land out here for sale…If it’s been listed for that long I am betting that it will still be there for you when your ready at least you have a plan!
Thank you, I hope so as well, and if not there will be plenty of other options around there.
Very very Cool!
Never made it to Fort Riley, but Fort Benning many many times. That’s of course the Airborne School. They would task our aircraft out of Dyess (Abilene, TX) to use as a “Taxi” for the parajumpers. So we would fly in for the day, pick up the jumpers, kick em out, then do it again. I think we averaged about 25 jumps a day.
Quick little story: it’s a graduating class, and they have 2 jumps to finish. Poor Army Grunt shatters his ankle on the first jump. We sat there and watched as the instructor told him he could go to the Medic and literally wash out and start over, or he could “get your ass up and finish your jumps and graduate with your class”…dude had balls of brass and completed his jump with a shattered ankle!
It is appreciated @CoyoteCody
I get a feeling all 3 of us are born and bred full blooded Americans! Not going politics or anything, but this is the greatest Damned country in the planet. I would stilll give my life to defend it, and ALL the people within it!!!
Thank you brother!
Could not agree more brother, I wanted to serve but I caught a felony at 18, but it lead me to where I’m at now so I cannot complain to much and I regret nothing, after all my path lead me to my wife who gave me what I wanted more than anything, a family.
@DankBank22 Funny how you just mentioned that story so when I went to MEPS to sign with recruiter’s I told them I wanted to go to Benning for basic and that I also wanted Airborne in my Contract…I got both of course. Now there I was student leadership at Benning…Drill Sgt’s thought it would be funny to smoke the **it out of us by making us load LBV’s into the wall locker and Paired me(biggest soldier in unit) with the smallest and told us to team carry wall locker loaded with LBV’s up 3 flights of stairs and across the bay than down 3 flights of stairs back to the start…well this little ass dude causes the wall locker to fall and the entire weight of it lands on my right foot fracturing it…Airborne incentive stripped from me due to foot injury! I take this as a Blessing in Disguise simply due to the fact that hindsight is 20/20 and My heavy ass didnt need to be jumping out of planes and running 25 miles a day anyway lol
Out of likes, but you got one.
That’s an awesome story from Felony to Family!!! Amazing how are darkest days can lead us to where we need to be!
Now look at ya…about to buy up half of New Mexico!! Really happy for ya homie!
@CoyoteCody Felony…to Family…to GIFmaster!! lol
Keep this up and you guys will be coming for my crown lmao.
Lucky Baaaaastard…getting station where you actually wanted to go lol! I was stationed 3 hours from home, in a big ass empty desert know as Abilene Texas.
Oh yeah if you were the biggest dude, you def had the biggest target for the TI’s!
Man dude, wall lockers with 40-60lb LBV’s???
Those dudes could come up with some whack training (punishment). That sucks though! But at least it worked out in your favor! I had an opportunity to jump. I couldn’t do it, I wussed out big time. Of course now I regret it everytime I see a parachute. I’d never do a commercial jump.
I spent 5 months in Ft. Leonard Wood. Hated that place but I loved the areas 20-30 min off post. Good fishing too!
Wow thank you.
I’ll def hit you up, but you don’t have to do that!?!?!?
Now you got me going through my box, I’ll hit your email later tonight!!
Got a dang Cardiology appointment at 2. Blood Pressure probs. Yayy getting old.
Oh and that’s cool you’re a Brat. I was a first Gen. military for our family. Glad I get to pass down what I learned, and shape my daughters little brain into what I feel is the right way to go about life. Honesty, intelligence…and integrity!
Hey @Jake3 Happy Growing, and Welcome!
Awesome man. Where you Army? What was your MOS?
@DankBank22 I know that brother but I am not Greedy and I have two would much rather you and your family get to enjoy it the way I do! One is enough for me honestly and the fact that you would truly appreciate the military appreciated standpoint of it means alot to me! I look forward to hearing from you. soon as you do I will send it tommorrow! Yes getting old gets old the older we get lol but it’s a part of life and your daughter will thank you for those value’s without a doubt! Seem’s like a lost part of the younger Gen. character’s for sure!
@Jake3 Most Def. good fishing…I live less than 3 miles from Gasconade river…I don’t know where you went to fish while here but chances are if it was off of post than either Waynesville, down Y hwy that’s across the i-44 bridge or down hwy 28…so many places depending on the type of fishing you preferred…
