So a friend of mine is growing some clones she got. I have been giving her advice throughout her grows and she had a question for me this weekend and I wasn’t sure what to tell her sonwas hoping I could get some advice.
Anyway she is currently growing 4 clones. They are a month old at least and when she got them. She is using a 14/10 light cycle per my recommendation and she noticed they have started flowering. I told her if they started to flower I would drop the light cycle down to 12/12 to promote budding.
I’ve never grown clones before so I wasn’t sure what to tell her as to why they started to flower without the light cycle being changed. They are photo period plants not autos.
Anyone have any idea as to why they would start to flower?
@Jmesser80 my GSCX mother and her clones are doing the same thing, well not really budding so much as showing sex at the nodes. In my opinion it’s just the plant telling us she is ready to flower. Post pics if you can I’d love to see any plants I can.
Only thing I can add, just an opinion… Is did she have clones on day 18/6 then moved them to 14/10… I did that on my last grow… They were not clones, northern lights photos(as far as my packaging said)… Had them at 18/6 from seedling to sprout for approx 1 month… Then changed them to 14/10… They went into flower… @Jmesser80
I think them was in a bigger schedule before (18/6) and growing slowly in 14/10 and perhaps this trigger the flowering stage… Maybe him will be able to change the schedule to 18/6 and will get back in veg stage if them are to tiny… Or if them are big enough to flowering stage will be better to put them in 12/12 schedule and enjoy the ride . Don’t forget… Them will continue to grow in Flowering stage.
Just my opinion…
I won’t be able to get any pics @Wishingilivedina420state she is a paranoid grower so I’m sure it wouldn’t go over well if I took some pictures. @Zombo that is a good point. When she first got them she had them under 18/6 and was using some cheap t5 lights that aren’t very powerful.
Her last grow her plants got real tall sonntold her to fim / top them earlier on formthis grow, which she did, and I also suggested she start using her big light (I’m not positive of the what kind of light it is but it’s a nice grow light and is pretty powerful, not an MH /HPS but very similar and has the ballast built right in I believe it is made by sun systems.) anyway when she switched to that light I suggested the 14/10 light schedule so im starting to think it was a combo of the more intense light and the longer dark period.
@M4ur I had suggested to her to switch to 12/12 and go right into flowering. The plants were big enough in my opinion to switch over. Her last grow her plants were very tall almost too tall as they started growing into the light.
I think she is on track now I was just curious as to why they switched over so I could let her know for her next grow.
