Clip fans, your experience

If you haven’t already open up the back and remove the zip ties holding the wire down. It shorts there @Mountonwall

@Hellraiser @GrizzlyGrows are these kits universal-ish? I have a 2x4 vivosun and 4x4 ac infinity that I’d love to install these poles in.

They are made for gorillas.unless the poles are the same diameter as gorillas poles(most likely not if its vivosun) it won’t work. Unsure on ac infinity pole diameter. If its too thin the clips won’t snap on to the pole correctly and will just slide all the way to the bottom. You could get them and probably rig them in there to make it work but you could spend the money on some shower curtain poles or something.

@Nicky i think u suggested shower curtain poles. Idk I seen it up there forever ago

I did because someone else did.
I tried 3d printed clips with pvc and they didn’t fit right…
Shower curtain rods are probably the best, cheap and easy.

I bought these. On one the ocsolating feature stopped but still blows. But the pole connection is the winner. Hasn’t slipped or slid wont fall off as it grips the pole all around. Not cheep but a 4 month old flowering plant being smashed is more expencive.

Not really, made for gorilla tents and their size of tent poles, which are thicker than the poles in other tents I’ve had. Any other brand of tent I’d just go with curtain rods and zip ties like I did in the mother clone tent.

They worked just as well on my vivosun tent with the smaller poles. They are crap but if I could find there clip on a better fan I’d but it.

Bought some of the Jardin Monkey clip oscillating fans.

So far… I am not a fan of these fans. The largest clip they provide fits snuggly onto the AC Infinity tent poles however they still slide down… I had to put duct tape onto the pole which fixed it.

I truly loved the Vivosun fans… Still have a few… I keep inspecting and cleaning them… So far no issues… But the stories got me nervous to buy something new.

There has got to be a way to use the vivosun clip with another fan.

I haven’t gotten around to the SolidWorks project yet… But will soon.

In my experience I have yet to find a clip on oscilating fan that works without hitting tent. When they imagineered them it worked on paper though…

Yes oscillating fans are junk because the gears are plastic. The clip sizing seems odd…
I actually am ready to go buy one of these fans for myself right now I have active air fans and switched them to Ed printed mounts… The 3d printed stuff didn’t turn out a good fit but it’s working better than the clips.

I won’t buy the vivosun because I don’t want to burn my house down lol.

I wish hurricane or AC infinity or someone made a pole clip and a quality fan sheesh!

I’ve noticed the clip mounts that come with the shitty fans work on other fans. I purchased fans called yield max(?) something like that. When they fail. I move the clips onto Holmes, hurricane, or whatever the decide to brand it for the day. Seem to grip well. Sorry for the bad pic.

Where did you get them?
Can you send a close up of the point where the clip connects to the fan?

Grow buddies also sells one but i don’t own any and dono if they would transfer to other fans

They are very similar to vivosun clips. I’ll snag a pic when I can. My kid is sleeping on me. Lol. As I said though, the fan itself is junk. Had one go out in 3 days.

I just made a thread for the same thing! Don’t get the jardin monkey fans, bought four and none even made it through the first grow.

Did you get the oscillating fan? Or the non Oscillating one?

Oscillating. Waste of money when 4 of 4 die in a few months. Sounds like I’m gonna stick to a tower fan and put stuff under it to raise as plants grow.

I have one pointed towards the corner of the tent and the ricochet seems to be pretty good! I only have 1 plant per tent though…

As I’ve said multiple times, no oscillating fan works. Get the normal monkey fan

Didn’t see, new to forum and just found this thread. Right after I made a thread about it!

What crazy is I had multiple oscillating power heads (under water fans) in my salt water fish tank and those bad boys never failed! I guess tower or regular fan it is. The guy at my local grow shop doesn’t sell oscillating fans at all, said he got so many warranty claims it wasn’t worth it. Oh well…
