Cleaning jars and/or totes

I was just wondering if my fellow growers clean their curing totes and or mason jars after you use them or before your next harvest, etc?
Thanks! Happy growing.

I won’t lie I have reused my jars before cleaning but a run threw the dish washer will take care of them

Happy growing :v: CB

I always clean my mason jars after the cure. They get sticky and you don’t want any contaminants to be passed on.

Thank you for your replies @Countryboyjvd1971 and @Pizmopete . I appreciate the advice. Yeah my last couple times I have not washed them but like you mentioned I noticed they get a little sticky on the inside. I think I’ll wash them out or at least do a little Dawn dish soap and water. If my wife leaves long enough I’ll run them all through the dishwasher
Have a nice morning

Dishwasher. A lot of mine have made their way to the cabinet with the rest of our drinking glasses and cups.

@Sixpackdad
Wash them on a separate cycle then your household dishes and then you won’t have them disappear on you
I usually wait until I have enough to do a full load
I tend to have lots of jars around hahaha
Have a great day all

@Sixpackdad @Countryboyjvd1971, thank you both for the replies. I am running a cycle of normal dishes that needed to be done as we speak. Once those are cleaned and put away I’m going to run my mason jars through. I figure now’s a good a time as any while the wife is at work. Have a nice morning all.

Haha exactly. I figure I’ll take it a little easier on myself and use the dishwasher. It will give me plenty of time to clean up and wipe away the evidence haha

Haha
She won’t know you used it bro :v:

I do the same thing with the dishwasher on sanitize and wash the lids by hand. I Have a dumb question what is the best way to clean your smart/air pots last time I used the garden hose and dish soap then use the washing machine but it’s going to snow 6in here so the prewash outside is not going to happen just wondering what you guys do

Maybe soak in a bucket of soapy water, rinse in sink then wash?

I actually have a slop sink in my basement
That I fill with hot water and dish soap I’ll even throw in some sledge hammer to help break up any mineral deposits
I let the pots soak for a hour rinse and then hand wash them in sink until there no more soap residue then I hang and dry
I would use the washing machine but wifey scares me hahahaha

I boil my fabric pots and dry them in the oven on low temp

I give mine a good scrub with dish soap and a scrubber outside, spray with a hose till clean. Let air dry.
