The sensorpush monitors the temp and humidity and the smart plugs allow me to turn AC, humidifiers, dehumidifiers or whatever on and off
Nifty. Quick Q, do you use the dome with your autopots? Saw BB’s homemade setup. Her growth is fast with the air running throigh the soil.
This is also the reason I went from a “two bucket/ one plant” undercurrent style system to a “one bucket/ one plant system”
The air dome? I have all the parts but have not set it up yet but yes I got the air domes too
I personally like my buckets and won’t go RDWC. They are simple. My bathroom is 10ft away and dumping an refilling is a breeze and I don’t find they really have problems with pH or PPM. Can leave them for a week without tending. Two weeks would be a stretch though.
Dang it! Just when I thought I was done buying stuff lol
There was another system I was looking at that “wicks” the water into the soil called octopots which is allot like the “self watering buckets” but I opted in the autopot instead
Yup, I’m there too.
In early veg im sure they would go the distance plus some but the last two weeks of flower I got about seven days max that I could go
So you havnt used to autopots yet?
You are correct
I haven’t grown in a “hand watering medium” in like two years now and never grown in coco, so I do have a little anxiety about it
Coco defiantly looks like an easy system. Heard it requires some nute adjustments from hydro though. Coco absorbs some of them.
I’ll continue to do Lucas with a bit of calmag added in.
I did consider doing “soil building” but I think I’ll hold off on that. I will definitely be “feeling” my way through it at first
Is it the cal or the mg that gets absorbed? I usually don’t supplement cal/mg cause I have found Lucas to be sufficient.
Im really not sure.
I generally don’t use to much calmag either.
In general, Lucas is a pretty mild nutrient mix. I don’t necessarily follow the 8/16 ml per gallon, instead I just follow a 1:2 ratio making custom mixes for whatever stage if the grow I’m in and rarely exceed 1200ppm even in late flower
I have played with1:3 in late flower. Planning on doing an entire grow with MaxiBloom and dumping the liquids.
Is that the powdered stuff that’s just 1 part in veg and 1 part in flower?
Ok, I’ve heard good stuff about it and a couple guys tried to get me to switch awhile back, guess im just kinda set in my ways… not stubborn, just comfortable
Consistent. I like it too. Just hate paying for water when I can make up 500 gallons for $14 with powder. Granddaddy uses it and he’s got some nice plants growing with it.
