@Newt @merlin44 thanks for the info. Will pass this along to Olaf.
I am on an 18/6 light schedule, and I canāt imagine that a 6/2 cycle would trigger flowering.
Posted my weekly update on the āGrowā side but decided to transplant last night so poppin those pics up in hurr.
20 days - Baby, Momma and Poppa, just like the 3 bears.
Dude just posted White Truffle Autos not photos as a new thread. Wonder if there was a mix up while packaging? Seems to be a thing.
Checked my four cups this morning and still no signs. I sure would have thought the first two would have popped up by now. Itās been a week. These are the toughest seeds Iāve dealt with to date.
I hope you can get something growing @Fishyswaw ā¦
Just a thought but i found 2 of my 5 growing sideways just under the surface of the soil. I believe @kaptain3d and others had similar experiences as well.
Got lucky and found one while spritzing water on the soil. Once she saw light she started moving vertically
The second one i found when dropping another bean in the same solo cup but she didnt make it
Strange batch of beanz here it seems. Good luck brother
@Metalheadfred , yea I had one also. Found it when I went to drop the last set. Adjusted correctly I believe, just waiting. But not very patiently!
Hereās another thought that popped in my head: Normally, germinating seeds can sense the force of gravity and respond accordingly with downward root growth and upward vegetative growth. I wonder if this ability has been suppressed or eliminated as an unintentional negative side effect from the extensive genetic manipulation present in virtually every strain, hybrid, and variety of todayās seeds
@Retiredoldguy , if I donāt I surely wonāt starve, but thatās not the point. Itās just frustrating. The only change is the potting soil. An organic miracle grow. The didnāt have what I usually get. It looks decent just a lot of what looks like coir.
I get itā¦
This could be the problem. I bet a dollar to a donut that it has time released ferts and is killing the babies.
It has that. Sold as starting soil. They used to carry a no name that worked great. I think I will make a stop for some different soil. I still have four seeds left. Better late than never.
@Retiredoldguy , good thing I have weed to smoke to ease my frustrations at difficulties of growing weed!
sitting in the grow room enjoying my harvest⦠makes everything else go away for awhile ā¦
That is very possible, they have changed the genetics so much over the years, it could be losing some that they donāt monitor as close.
Organic MG potting mix is what I usually use. Iāve never had a bad experience using it or MG nutes. I donāt use MG nutes now, but couldnāt pass up a 50-qt bag of dirt for $9.95 at Costco. My decision was a no-brainer after I compared price, ingredients, and guaranteed analysis to those of any ācannabis-specificā product.
Truth be told, my very first grow ever i used MG potting mix.. out of 5 plants i yielded over a lb.. that was nearly 30 years ago when i had to order seeds from Canada and a HPS/MH setup was nearly a grand
Oh hell yeah bro i was just thinking about this today . I believe it was āg-sandersā we ordered from(or something like that) in canada. I still have the brochure buried somewhere in the basement
.
First light was a hps ballast aquired from the ceiling of the weld shop i was working at. Welded up a hokey ars bracket so i could hang the bulb horizontal. Thing was like 9000lbs . Later upgraded to a hydrofarm setup.
We never tried MG though. Was cheap soil with cow perlite vermiculite etc⦠Did ok but perhaps woulda been better off with the MG
Awesome times!!!
Believe or not i ordered from PEAK seeds.. they are still in business today
MG gets a bad rap thatās undeserved. The mixture is precharged with nutes (so is FF). Naturally, feeding too soon and too much harms or kills the plant. Stick to water for at least 3 weeks before adding nutes. Start with a reduced concentration, assess the response, and gradually bump it up.
