How do you know when to change light schedule to 12/12 ?
You switch the timer to a 12/12 schedule ?
You can either drop times a few mins a day till you reach 12/12 or just go from your veg schedule right to flower
May I ask what type of lights are you using
And strains ?
Happy growing CB ![]()

I was using 2 led lights… 2 weeks ago I bought 250 watt high pressure sodium. I don’t know why, but I turn lights off at around 10… back on at 6am. I don’t know what to do with them… they were seedlings on July 21st.Im great at smoking… but have no idea how to grow… just reading ALOT. The strain is gorilla glue
May I ask… are these plants in vegitative state?? I’m VERY confused. These plants I have put through hell… many mistakes!! Why aren’t they bushy yet?
I done several Gorilla Glue grows love the strain ![]()
I’m guessing it was the lack of light in the early stages of growth what size led light also spectrum makes a difference your looking for 5700k fir veg & 2700 k for flower
I use 8 full spectrum panels myself in my two 4x4 tents
They look like they are thin and stretched out
What size is your tent
Your looking for about 50 w per square foot with his so mh bulbs
And somewhere between 35-50 with leds
Also what type of soil are you in
Do you ph your water
Are you feeding the plants anything
I’ll have more questions I’m sure @Sashasrs
I agree with @Countryboyjvd1971 they stretched to light conditions, not enough light or not the right kind of light.
They still look to be vegging from the pics, as they should be if you’re giving them 18 hours of light.
Can you post specific information about the lights you have? How many watts, color temp, or whatever you have about the leds? They will stretch to the red light of his in veg, but I don’t think that much typically. Guessing it started with the leds. Once we determine exactly what you’re using in what specific area, we should be able to get you on track to avoid it in the future.
speaking in generalities because every plant grows differently, my seedling stage lasts 2-3 weeks, the vegetative stage lasts 1-1 1/2-2 months, flowering can be 8-10 weeks ±…height of your grow area determines when to flower for many people because when they start that stage during the first few weeks the plants can double in height many times growing too close to the lights leading to problems.
Ooooh the mistakes I’ve made!! I had super soil made for me from a special hydroponic plant store. AWSOME soil… BUT just transferred plants to 5 gallon pots . Was using… lol photography strobes with fluorescent lights… 2. Just bought a new light… a week ago. I’ll send a pic. The plants are in a closet… open at both ends with a standing fan going. Only 1 plant is super tall… with few leaves, they were burnt so I took them off. I just started taking ph… I get it from 8.4 to 6.6
andThank you!!! I guess I haven’t given up hope yet.
Soooo many issues with these plants! How much longer of vegitative stage?
I would get them under proper light and see how well hey react
It up to you on when you flower imo I would veg under proper light for another 2-4 depending on growth if it was me @Sashasrs but keep in mind you max height and switch to flower according to that also
Some of the photography lights can be really good, others not so much.
The hps light won’t necessarily solve your problems. Do you know if the ballast can run a metal halide bulb as well? That’s what you want for hid lighting during veg growth. Or any type of predominantly blue wavelength light. Cold white fluorescent works too. You just have to supply enough of it, and make sure your distance to canopy is correct. Then you’ll get those nice bushy looking plants.
Like the others are saying, you determine how long they veg for. There could be several determining factors for your veg time. Some run a very long time and like to let plants get really big. Others choose to only veg for a few weeks and run more plants to fill their space. You should decide where to be based on your individual needs.
In this particular case, I agree with the others. You should probably veg them a little longer under proper light and see if you can get them to fill out a little. Perhaps some bending or other training techniques would help. It’s a little later in the cycle than I would typically do that, but I’m sure someone here could probably shine some light your way.
I am growing Northern Lights Feminized seeds in a 32/32/63" Tent using a 600 watt LED LIGHT. My two places seem very healthy, they have been in the Tent since April 25th. These are photos not Auto’s. I am wondering when to change my light schedule to 12/12 they have been on 18/6 since April 25th and as I said they look great. I am using FFOF with some extra Perlite added. Just wanted to know when to switch to the 12/12 schedule. Ranman.
