Can you make your own fabric pots?

Can I make my own fabric pots out of something I might have around the house like old t shirts or blue jeans or something like that?

I want 5 gallon pots with a height of only 8 inches, which I could only find on one website, but there out of stock. The rest of what I see are like 10 inches tall.

Can anyone find some 8 inch 5 gallon fabric pots online?

Thanks :purple_heart::fallen_leaf:

I don’t see why not. The fabrics that you mention will be a bit floppy so a hassle to fill but what the heck? For me, the commercially available grow bags are so cheap it is hardly worth the effort to make something.

@merlin44 I agree that the grow bags are really cheap, but I can’t find the dimensions I want. It’s only a 2 inch height difference between the 8 inch pots I want and the 10 inch pots I see available; but my grow room is already too short so any bit of height I can save the better. But I might just end up buying the 10 inch ones since I can’t find anything else. I’ll sleep on it and make a decision tomorrow

You can accommodate about any height you want with some training. My lights are hanging 5’ off the floor. I grow in 10 gallon fabric pots that sit on rolling bases which places the bottom of the pots 7" off of the floor.

I did not know any of this when I built my grow room. There is about 4’ of clear space above my lights.

Just fold the cloth pot down , like a pair of jeans that you might fold up , just down for you… :+1: :wink:
For whatever height your after…

I just bought the 10 inch pots. Sometimes I overthink small things

Its best to think about all the possibilities, but sometimes our end goal can be clouded by the what if’s. I have to step away from things sometimes and clear my head and come back to it with a fresh mind. I would have strangled someone earlier over the sink i was installing, if i had not done that!

Pot size isn’t everything if you work em right

Here are 12 in 1 gallon pots. 6” wide 8” tall

Without training they’d be over 7-8’ tall. Table is 4x8. Plant footprint 6x9

A lot more to controlling a grow than pot size :call_me_hand:t3:
