How and where do you trim off first harvest
Yes you can.
Each plant is different you’ll have to inspect your buds tricombs with a USB microscope for ripeness and decide what you want to chop and what you want to let ripen.
I did two plants this year. I harvested both in May. I left the bottom bud on every stalk. I feed them for veg and put them under 24 hr mid level lights. I moved them outside in July. They started flowering last month.
Thanks
Is there any trick to taking the top budds, then harvesting the bottom? I had to do it this time, I couldn’t get a few budds into the light all that well. Anyhow the tri’s are getting there, but there not there yet. I’m not sure it is working? Been a week and no change. Any tips? This is my first time with a duel harvest.
This will be the third harvest. Leave a little bud behind and put under 24hr light 3 weeks you start to get some very odd veg growth. Now i have bushes that i could literally trim with headge clippers. So thick and full.
Hello! I do duel Harvests frequently. I will take the top usually pretty close to recommended grow time, and will harvest the lower buds 1-2 weeks later. I did a recent test with my purple Buddha plant and the left the lower buds on for a month longer, but did not give me an appreciable difference Over the 2 weeks I usually grow. Good luck!
As you can tell from the replies, harvesting in stages is not at all uncommon. Even beyond that there are methods that reveg a plant after harvest and grow more bud for another (small) harvest. IMO it doesn’t look like it’s worth the trouble. Always good to have more knowledge though.
I stage harvest big photo myself. Not much more than 20% added growth but full ripening of lower after about 2 weeks.
Thanks. I guess I need to wait a little.
Yes thanks. I have about 10 lower budds that I didn’t think would be harvested, now I understand.
Thanks all
One can see the low colas on the left girl.
