Can this cannabutter be saved?

A while back I decarbed some Harlequin trim. Clever girl that I am, I decarbed half for THC and half for CBD. Then I mixed it all together and made 2 pounds of cannabutter.

Unfortunately there is no love at all in that butter. No THC buzz, no CBD pain relief.

Can I re-infuse this butter with some more potent weed and save it? I appreciate all advice

When you add the lecithin, do you heat it with the buds and butter, or add it after you strain the buds out?

For the THC half I roasted the weed at 230 F for 30 minutes. This usually works well. For the CBD half I did the same temp for 50 minutes. I then mixed the two and made butter.

Can try placing butter in a mason jar. 170 for several hours. Temp decarbs but also lower temp and TIME decarb also. Have had to do this before. Can try and if no change no loss. If it completes the decarb then a success.

H’mmm…when I made the butter I had it in a mason jar in a CrockPot for about 8 hours. The temp of the water was around 170. So, doing that again should activate the cannabinoids?

No. It should have activated. Can try. Kinda strange no decarb. You had the right time and temps. I decarb and infuse all the time. Medical edibles. I would definately try. Cant lose and a possible win. Also water 170 means the butter probably lower temp. I put a jar of olive in last run to help decarb more. Got friggin strong. Lecithin at infuse helps oils bind to waters and grabs the thc oils off the plant. Also helps digestion.

I usually have no problem. Maybe I should just decarb for THC and not worry about the rest. I think I’ll re-infuse this butter with something a bit stronger than Harlequin.

I have done just that, albeit with coconut oil. Decarbed some more weed, and infused it into the already infused oil. It worked well.

Ive wondered about this, dont the two actually work against each other. CBD balances the THC out yeah? I honestly figured the 1:1 plants and edibles were for people who get uncomfortable with being blazed high.

I have some gummies that I bought premade… 12.5 mg of each THC and CBD. I haven’t had more than 2 at a time yet, but I plan to. I found them to be very… I think ‘pleasant’ is the right term. I wasn’t super buzzed, but I completely enjoyed the balance.

The lecithin helps the fat to absorb more thc as well as makes it more readily avIlable for your body to process. It comes liquid or powder in soy or sunflower (maybe others too) powdered comes deoiled or natural. I have used both, liquid leaves no particles, dry will leave some in your oil unless you use like a 25 micron filter bag.

The first few time that I tried decarboxylation I keeped messing it up … My oven was not calibrated so I was going above the temps to decarboxylate making the product with no chance of being high … So make sure your oven is calibrated … it was a tough lesson to learn

My first taste of Harlequin was in gummies I made from weed decarbed in the usual way. I felt happy and loved, like all was well with the world. I wanted a repeat of that feeling, but was also curious about the CBD effect.

The result of that experiment was exactly nothing. No warm fuzzy for me, no pain relief for my husband. I really think I didn’t decarb long enough. The weed was dry, but still pretty green.

I have since learned that THC is also excellent against pain. Next time I won’t mess with CBD.

This time I’ll reinfuse my butter with some White Widow trim I have on hand. I KNOW that stuff works!

I have the same issue with hybrids over sativas or indicas. I find the best hybrid is mixing two weeds together rather then crossing their genetics.

So, you would combine weed from 2 separate strains rather than look for a “balanced” strain? That makes some sense.

I used 3 strains Mentos,Skittles, Daquari all work for pain and stress, muscles everything.
