Okay sooo, I messed up bad. But I want to know if it’s possible to save. So I accidentally yanked a plant out of its roots!! I instantly put it back in the soil but I went to check back on it after the plant was just like dead. Like it’s just laying there, should I accept my losses or can it be saved ?
Out of its roots or out by its roots? Pictures?
Yes I’ll post a pic, but what I meant to say is like I yanked it out of the dirt, the roots came out.
It may live. You will need to cover the plant with a clear dome and mist the dome and plant to keep the humidity up. This will stop the plant from losing water through the leaves and give the roots time to recover. A little bit lower light level will help too. Should take a week or 10 days like a clone to get well if it is going to.
If it very young you may want to start another like @Spiney_norman you can probably save it but but a new one may end up ahead
Especially if its an autoflower as the clock is still ticking on it starting to flower.
Howdy
I always try and save my mistakes,it helps me learn ![]()
Ty I will add a dome over it. I had added a bit of water too after I replanted it
Put humidity dome on her and spritz inside with water and give it a week and see.
Okay !! Fingers crossed ![]()

I’ve been in that situation where I just dropped a bean on the other side domed it let them both go and made the decision in a few weeks
I think it will live. Cover it and give it some R&R
I sure hope so ! We’ll see how it goes, pray for my plant

Yes it can be saved, keep her out of heat and treat her like a clone, low temp, low light, high humidity. She will pull through she just needs a little chicken soup ![]()
There’s a lot of good advice in this post but I think it’s also worth considering, “should it be saved?” That’s definitely not me trying to be a Debbie Downer, just wanting to present all possibilities and considerations.
It would probably be faster and more fruitful to start over, because by the time this one picks up, breaks past the inevitable stunting, you can probably grow a new seed in the same time and be barely behind schedule. Not to mention I can already see signs of deficiency or toxicity on the leaf edges, you may just want to consider chalking this up to a learning experience.
If it was me, I’d 100% start over, but that’s just me. Again, not trying to be a downer by any means, I just want to be honest and transparent and help you manage your expectations if you do proceed forward.
Personally I believe if it CAN be saved, it’s worth trying lol. I wouldn’t learn anything if I just gave up and started over. They’re barely in the vegetive stage so I think it’s worth saving. I do have another plant that barely sprouted today so either way I do have other plants. But there’s always room for one more ![]()
This is precisely why starting over would be the better learning experience. With issues this early on, you’ll be playing whack a mole with issues until harvest. But I mean, hey, grow what you like, like what you grow — i wish you luck regardless!
I wouldn’t call staring over a learning experience, it would just be starting over. The only way I would get a learning experience out of this is if I try to save it. So if its a learning experience I’m shooting for, then I guess I’ll try to save it. But I understand what you’re saying. Thank you for your input. I only grow once a year so I gotta take what I can get haha
