Can I use lime diluted in water to raise ph?

Hi I’m having a hard time managing my plant’s ph… it’s pretty acidic at the moment… I’m flushing the plant as we speak but runoff is consistently high and the soil remains stuck around 5 ph… I’m thinking of diluting lime into water and drenching with that to resolve the issue… what do you think?

Dolomite lime top-dressed in to the top inch of soil and watered in is your best bet. You don’t want to shock the plant so got to ease into it a bit.

Are you confident your PH meter is reading accurately?

Reasonably confident… it’s a $30 metre designed for testing ph in compost heaps so I think it should be reasonably ok… might be worth investing in something a bit more reliable

You must have one of the probes you stick in the soil I have never used one, I would suggest look at apera or blue lab to get you a good pH meter. That would be one of your best troubleshooting tools.

When did you calibrate it last? If it is a soil probe type I would not rely on it (unless it’s a Bluelab).

Umm never? I bought it from Bunnings for $30 :grimacing: just ordered a new one from Amazon that looks ok

Are there visible issues with the plant?

Saturated soil will usually read low using a soil PH probe.

Many questions
Strain?
How old?
What soil?
What feed?
Temps/humidity?
Water being used? Tap RO well rain?
Ph of water?
Lighting type and duration?
Fans?

Initially looks like a phosphorus issue to me from not having enough available in soil and or a soil PH issue

Many times a good flush will help things
