“I have my fourth week old plants, I was wondering if I can feed them brown sugar?”

I don’t recommend it. I’m not sure that brown sugar contains any of the necessary nutrients your plants require. I would purchase an organic fertilizer from a garden store. Look for the NPK ratio on the back of the container. Something higher in nitrogen for veg. (i.e. 5-2-3)

I use unsulfored molasses during the flowering stage to help feed the microbes in the soil. I’ve also heard of people using honey but I have not heard of anyone using brown sugar. (Doesn’t mean they haven’t I just never heard of it being used)

The difference between brown sugar and raw sugar is that brown sugar is the residu of molasses and raw sugar is the main sources of molasses
Refined sugar is made from raw sugar that has undergone a refining process to remove the molasses. Raw sugar is sucrose which is extracted from sugarcane or sugar beet. While raw sugar can be consumed, the refining process removes unwanted tastes and results in refined sugar or white sugar. {Wikipedia}.
So, the “unwanted” taste of raw sugar is going on a process that eventualy is making molasses and brown sugar…
Molasses is very good for flowering stage because it’s high in iron and magnesium and other “unwanted” micro nutrients that give the sugar “unwanted” taste…
Brown sugar is only good for sweetening your cake or coffee and only gone a attract pest like fruits fly, fungus gnat, aphids and other pests like this and do not forget that mold and fungus are attract to a field that is rich in sugar, espacelly if that environnement is humid and bellow pH 7.
