C99 into flower

That second picture is freaking beautiful! I love it!

Top colas from the last GSC

Tomorrow I’ll scrub out the tent, pick up a new bottle of CO2 and we’ll begin …

Very nice, no damn likes to give as usual.

I got you fam

Tent is all cleaned out, Autopot trays and Aquavalves scrubbed and new plumbing installed. Time to install the girls, I think they’re ready …

Clones first …

I have Air Domes in the three ‘manifolded’ plant’s pots, may as well add an air pump on a timer. New bottle of CO2 too

Check valves so I don’t have siphoning issues later

So pretty

All together

The first 12 hour day starts in 10 minutes …

Yes they all are! Very much so!

Mixing up the medicine

I’m using AN pH perfect grow & bloom nutes in RO water. When these plants were in the veg tent they got

1ml/L Cal-Mag
2ml/L A&B

For an EC of 700ppm (500 conversion factor) and it seems to have suited them just fine.

For their first flowering mix I’m going to back off the A&B slightly and add Bud Ignitor

1ml/L Cal-Mag
1.5ml/L A&B
1.3ml/L Bud Ignitor

I have 250ml of Bud Ignitor and I want to spread it out over 3 reservoirs (15 days) so that gives me 1.3ml/L. This mix comes in at around 800ppm, not too shabby

I have an aquarium circulating pump in the reservoir, it’s only 3.5W so it won’t make any difference to the water temp but it does run 24/7 and keeps everything well mixed.

Day time temps are set for 26C, 20C at night. RH is set to 70% but I’m only seeing 60% so far and CO2 at 750ppm - it’s cold in my basement and the extractor fans don’t run very often. CO2 levels were falling to 300ppm or less at the end of the “day” during the last grow and supplemental CO2 keeps the level up

Awesome !!! I am looking into the auto pot system as well, if I get another tent, I think that will be the route I go :+1: :+1: :+1: :+1: :v:

Thanks @repins12

The girls are enjoying their first 12 hours of darkness, when I checked the reservoir level I see 20 liters used. 10 to prime the system (fill pipes and trays) and 10 used by the plants - that’s about what I saw on the last grow of 9 (6+3) plants

I picked up a BlueLabs EC/pH combo meter today. Just calibrated it and measured the reservoir - pH 5.8 and EC 880. The EC may have drifted up a little but the pH is bang on

Checked on the girl’s this morning, just before lights out. I thought I could see some leaf curl. Checked the EC & pH and they had remained stable at 880/5.9. I added 5 liters of RO water to the reservoir to reduce the EC to 800.

This evening the girls look happier, they are just starting to react to the 12/12 flip. I am determined to finish a run with no leaf horrors (tip burn, calcium def, general brown crispies etc etc). Maybe this time?

Improved my RO plumbing, now the reservoir has its own supply, new Bluelabs meter and power for the aquarium circulation pump

Bah, a little burn at the tips never hurt anything. That’s how you know you’re feeding enough lol.

Reservoir check tonight and EC holds steady at 790, pH continues to drift up at 6.0. Nothing to worry about though.

I took some fan leaves and side shoots off two of the manifold plants tonight, will get to number 3 tomorrow. This exposes the shorter stems to more light and improved airflow though the plant

The clones look happy too

Some of the fan leaves I took off are monsters, no brown crispies (yet) or “indicators of adequate nutrition” as the pros call it

Week 2 begins. The 3 manifold plants have got to the top of the wire supports, the clones are really starting to stretch

Day 11 and I was going to make up reservoir #3, the last dose of Bud Ignitor, but there’s still 20L in the tank so it can wait until tomorrow. I have been checking my reservoir everyday and I’m really impressed by AN pH perfect in RO water. The pH starts at 5.7 and drifts up to 6.0 max 5 days later, EC is rock steady at 800. I’ll check every day throughout this grow but I think I wasted my money on a new pH meter (YMMV)

I did a bit of fan leaf trimming, mostly underneath (where the sun don’t shine) to improve airflow.

The manifold plants are a twisted mess

I definitely have to working on my even canopy next time around. I keep taking big fan leaves to expose the lower tops and that’s not how it should work

Clones, just a light de-leafing:

It looks like removing low sideshoots just before flower is paying dividends - there’s hardly any potential popcorn down there

@Nicky I’ll stop hijacking your journal, promise

Had a semi disaster earlier this week - checked the reservoir in the morning, just after lights off, and the level had dropped 20L more than expected - oh shit! Shut the reservoir valve and at lights on I opened the tent to find one of the mother plant’s roots had got into an Aquavalve and caused a leak. It took a while to clean up but at least the tent liner kept the leak contained

The Autopot XLs had root control disks in their trays but I had ordered and received some XL pot socks a couple of days previously. I upgraded to the pot socks after cleaning up so hopefully that problem is solved. All the clones had pot socks from day 1

Day 14 since the 12/12 flip and things are progressing nicely, I was worried about the stretch but these C99s have been quite well behaved

Mothers

I’m really happy with the way the plants are looking, the leaves are reaching up towards the light, no leaf curl. That said, they may be a little hungry, I found one leaf on a clone that makes me wonder …

The AN pH perfect nutrients continue to perform in my system. I measure pH and EC everyday, the reservoir starts with a pH of 5.8 and drifts up to 6.0 over 4-5 days, EC is constant at 800. I’m happy eith that but I should measure in the trays too.

The next reservoir refill is on Sunday so I will probably step up the A&B slightly but the schedule calls for me to start using BigBid and this is usually when I screw up and get tip burn

What if you add landscape fabric (weed barrier) underneath these things? Just suggestion, no clue if it would work.
