I’m sorry if this is a really novice question, it is my first grow though. But it looks like my sour diesel is starting to flowering and I’m not sure how. It’s supposed to be a feminized seed and has got 18 hours of light minimum.
The only thing I can think of is that I ordered grapefruit autos in the same order and maybe they mixed up the seeds. Maybe someone can shed some light on this for me
She’s definitely throwing out preflower and if she’s been continuously under 18 hrs of light she’s certainly behaving like an auto. Maybe contact Customer Service, they’ll resolve your issue.
All autos from ILGM are feminized all autos will flower under 18hr of light photoperiod plants only flower under 12hr of light or less with that said are you sure you didnt order all autoflowers also id highly recommend looking over your plant for bugs those white specs all over are prime signs of Spider Mite damage
Full on flower, must be an auto flowering strain
I dug up the shipping label and turns out it is indeed an auto, guess I should’ve done that before posting. The white specs on the leaves is Diatomaceous Earth.
Glad you got it figured out and ohh okok haha i was like ugh they got bugs and dont know it yet lol whats your reason for dusting the plants with the DE?
Appreciate the heads up though, I only find out about problems after the occur as I don’t really know what to expect.
I’m using DE for an infestation I had, I think they’re phorid flies. So far the DE and a bunch of sticky strips seemed to drastically decrease the population.
Hey @Putridsmell , just wanted to mention a couple things.
If these are ILGM seeds and you ordered Photos but got autos then just contact the seed shop and they will fix that. Look for your original order confirmation email and just hit “Reply” to that email and include a picture of the seed pack showing you received autos. Plus you can see on that email if you ordered autos or photos.
Second, for bugs I treat the grow space floors and walls with Ortho Home defense pest control. I get it at lowes but its probably available elsewhere. It will kill most bugs that land on the surfaces. It helps keep things I track in from outdoors from crawling into the grow bags. It wont transfer to the plants, but I take the time to make sure the buds dont touch the tent sides. I still get gnats sometimes since they are in the soil, but it really knocks the population down. Once they land on the tent walls they die.
1 gallon last me years and I use it on doors and windows to keep other bugs out of the house. A light mist is all the tent needs and then give it 30 minutes to dry.
That is an excellent idea - I never would have thought of it. I don’t have bugs this time but when I had gnats those things were always landing on the tent surfaces.
I had the strains mixed up, thought it was the grapefruit that was auto but it was sour diesel.
I’ll have to try out the home defense. How often do you need to spray or does it stay potent for awhile? Like if I sprayed it now, when should I reapply it? Think I’d rather use that than the DE, I don’t have the proper equipment and I don’t like breathing it.
The new formula that I posted the picture of lasts a year.
I treat the tent myself after each grow cycle, so every 4 months.
If you have plants constantly in the tent perhaps once every 6 months would be ok.
I like to clean the tent out from debris like old leaves, spilled dirt and dust. Damp mop the floor and after it dries then spray the tent walls and floor with the Home Defense insecticide. Give it 30 minutes or so to dry and then anytime after you can place plants in the tent and go. It wont stop everything because the plants themselves can still get critters from the soil or bugs can jump off cats or dogs or you and live on the plant. But they cant crawl in if they have to cross the tent floor or walls. Have not had any mites or aphids or even spiders since I started this. Its a cheap easy thing that just adds one more layer of protection from bugs.
