For sure! Lol

If I waited until I could afford led lights I wouldn’t be growing! But I did just purchase a used hlg550 for $200 and a hlg single quantum board with a 120watt meanwell driver for $50 used lights are out there. Just gotta look.

Oh man That’s a steal of a deal! Looking too

Somebody mentioned HPS/MH for a budget friendly grow. The only reason they are budget friendly now is because LEDs came on the scene. I used HPS MH back in my younger days and i produced buds that would def compete with the buds im growing now with a HLG 320 and HLG 600r. The HLGs were about a grand. Ive seen HPS MH setups selling for less than 100 bucks. If you have FB, look up the group REGROW. Lots of individuals selling good/used equipment for pennies on the dollar.

If you can stretch your budget to 160 Green Beams makes a quality 240 watt that would handle 2 plants also agree photos better choice for first grow

Sorry to blow up your post! But In short. Light is the MOST IMPORTANT part of the grow. Followed very closely by environment control. Not enough light is very frustrating! If you can only afford a cheap led and that’s the route you want to go then Don’t let anyone tell you differently! It is most definitely MORE important to get growing! Than to poder on what lights and equipment one cannot afford. But if possible do yourself a favor and try and get a decent light…. 3 gallon pots work great for me if I’m running multiple plants but If Your not wanting water everday I would suggest 5-7 gallons. Happy growing and good luck :love_you_gesture:t5:

I believe they are sold out and having some supply issues. Also heard that Corey’s dad was ill.
There’s someone on Ebay selling a few, I think from a hydro store in MI. Green Beams has the HLG driver and Samsung LEDs, a good deal for a legit light!

Budget-related question… can HPS/CMH be run in a 4x4 tent?
I suppose it depends on ventilation?

It can run anywhere that you can exhaust the air. Like into the room it’s placed in

A 600watt mh/hps gives off a decent amount of heat. But nothing crazy if it’s placed in a tent in a room. Kind of like running a heater. Just shut the heat off in the room and find the happy medium exhausting the air from the enclosed tent into the lung room. (The room it’s in)

It’s what I grow with now! Lol guess I’m old too!

With a Winter grow that extra heat is a good thing , or North of the border like oldguy.

More than a few of us die hards still around using them.
I run mine in the winter for the heat. And usually on at nite. Off thru the day.

Absolutely does as mentioned.
I run 2 x 600’s in 8 in vented hoods in my room.
Temps will generally hold 75 - 80 deg during the lights on time.
I’ve got a 10 in hurricane exhausting the room.
Been working. :+1::grin:

@LouisvilleMystic I kinda lied to make a sarcastic point… can flower more than one but it’s a lot of adjusting and adding extra bulbs, whatever I could scrape up. Still not the output I need.
I had a cheap used “parking lot lamp” once 400W MH dirty cheap. I was scared to put anything within about two feet of it.

@Jaysittinback when we bought our house, the previous owner had 2 street MH lights for security out back. Ive never even turned them on, but ive played with the idea of setting them up to good use. Ive got the ventilation, just dont have the space atm :joy::joy::joy::joy: i swear when those things turn on, itll ne like the gates of heaven have opened up and everything melts :rofl::rofl::rofl:

That $ you save buying a cheap light will go to electric bill and then some. Better light lower bill less waste. I run 2 8bar led for the cost of my hps 600w with fans.
