Bubbleheads first grow

@Beekeeper I have a head lamp for tracking deer that has a green led on it. I used that to see what I was doing. If I did not have that I was going to just cut the entire plant down in one cut, then take the stems off.

Oh yummy :yum:. I will wait on what others have to say. Iā€™ve only made budder so far. I have more plans than I do trim  I dried my trim in paper sacks then decarbed
it on mostly northern lights sugars mixed with some Blueberry a while back. On my last Amnesia Haze I skipped decarb and used @blackthumbbetty pressure cooker recipe. Iā€™m sure others can tell ya better on how they dry trim. Iā€™d like to find a better flavor way to do it.

@Bubblehead yeah i saw that post about making gummies. mmm

Yepā€¦something to do with the green light wonā€™t affect the plants. You can look at a photo period plant during lights out and not worry about messing their sleep cycle up. Now, a little caveat you donā€™t want to over do it but for cutting them down Iā€™m sure it will be fine.

Cannabis plants donā€™t absorb a lot of light on the green spectrum, so they donā€™t really ā€œseeā€ green light. That makes it a safer light to use if you need to check them during their dark period.

@Angie I will share my information right now I just want to get the buds dried without any mold showing up. I think we will get a magical butter machine to make life easier.

Iā€™m making budder, now. No MBM, just my oven and a pressure cooker.

At this exact moment, Iā€™m decarbing 34 grams of ground bud in a 240F oven for 30 mins.

Sounds yummy. How long do you put in pressure cooker? How much butter for 34 grams?

I go by servings. What works for me is about 30-36 grams of weed per 3/4 cups butter/ghee/coconut oil. That ROUGHLY calculates 12 tbsp/36 tsp of Budder, with 1 tsp of Budder containing ROUGHLY 200mg THC. Iā€™ll get anywhere from 30-36 servings of Budder out of one batch. I size my chocolate candies using a candy mold that makes 30 Ā½oz candies, which ends up making the perfect dose.

I just do stoner math to adjust that for each recipe. For me, if thereā€™s not about a gram of bud used per serving, itā€™s just not strong enough.

@blackthumbbetty Is this ratio considers to be strong? Having never made budder before 1gram/tsp seems high. I canā€™t imagine smoking an entire gram at one sitting. Iā€™m assuming that the potency of the bud is reduced due to the process by which the budder is made. Or am I just a light weight?

Yes, Iā€™d say it is, compared to a lot of other recipes. Thereā€™s ROUGHLY 150-200mg thc per gram of bud (or more), depending on strain.

Awesome work man, I hope I can compete with a harvest like that one of these days!

Thanks. Time, patients, reading and learning from this fine group of people is how I did it.

My AK came down last night, sorry no pictures. Just wasnā€™t up to it at 1am when I was done. My little BGA came down today, she was in a 3-gallon pot. She did well and to think I was going to eliminate her early. Iā€™m really happy with how this is turning out. Just guessing on the trimming. Itā€™s good enough for me and that is all that matters. I will take any tips that are offered.

How do you get an accurate wet weight when the large stems are still attached? Are the considered into the 70-75% weight loss?

How long did it take to dry them out? Curious for mine. Thanks they look great!

It was just harvested this morning. I am expecting 5-7 days before it goes into jars.
