Would you suggest me buying another HLG 100 V2 3000 where the footprint for Flower is 2x2 I would have 4 in that tent 4x4 ? looks to me the cheapest way out. Your thoughts ? Thank you for your input.
has anyone heard from @PurpNGold74 lately i hope he’s ok.?
Probably not. If you’re going to spend more money my suggestion would just be to bite the bullet and start working on getting something more designed to the space. The hlg-100 is a nice rig, but it’s more of a small setup beginner light. It’s not as efficient or powerful as bigger models. You could do it and would probably be fine, but it would be taking long way around to mediocrity.
I did last week. He’s fine, trying to work and take care of family that is high risk to leave their homes.
As much as I don’t want to but If I were to buy a new light for the 4x4 one single light fixture what would you recommend. I am open to building a light if its a lot less than one assembled. I will definitely give it some thought. Thanks for your assistance @Teacherttom1 @dbrn32
If you were to buy one, hlg-550 is about $900. You could probably build replica fixture for about $700 give or take.
Price on builds going to vary on exactly what you want, how resourceful you are, and ability to find any discount codes. I don’t know of any good codes right now, but they do come up. You could probably build out a fixture with 120 boards for around $600, or do chilled tech or plc strips for maybe $800.
Thank you. Something to think about. I wish I could trade in my 3 HLG 100s lol.
Both Budget and HLG have generous discount codes for veterans. Just a thought. An email or two will get you better prices.
Thank you. Once i decide what I want and want to spend I will look into it Thanks Again @QueenCityB
No problem at all, my friend.
I went and watched a video on them, seems to be a good light, $$$. I like to have the ability to lower one side if the plants grow different rates, it came in super handy last time! Maybe can get a 240w qb kit to just add to it… I have mine in the middle and my burple on the sides… when I hung all the fixtures I just put the light boards all the same direction but was able to raise or lower each one… easier??? Prolly not but it was cheaper everyone I see on here that got the split HLG setups seems to be really happy you have 300w now one 200 or 240w should do you good yield not max but a lb if it goes well! But lights are the heart of the machine!
The kids are young for now until the tent is set up coming Wednesday filter and ventilation I think I will use 2 of my HLG 100 lights for a few weeks then order new light. I need to get one good grow under my belt.
I need to treat these like my first kids but with a little more knowledge I hope I learned a lot since my first grow.
I have germination figured out, I have Vegging down pretty well, it’s flowering I am having problems. This grow I will do better I know most of the mistakes I made but this is how I learn. Looking forward to making this grow a success. First question how high should I keep the lights they are 1 month old tomorrow and are strong like bull. Last grow Ph meter got out of wack light was too close but had no room in tent to raise. After reading and more reading I realize what went wrong. Those 2 events caused foxtails throughout the whole plant. Have a great night and happy Tuesday to all.
thanks for the update
The tent arrived i am going to setup maybe this afternoon no energy today but very anxious to get things in order. My body energy is in lockdown.

@dbrn32 is this the light you recommend for my 4x4 tent? I decided on prebuilt.
@QueenCityB thank you for the info they gave me a Generous discount did not purchase yet but very interested with discount.
That would be a good unit! You could probably do two of the 260 xl kits and save some money. Would give you a little better coverage too.
