Thrid Auto Flower grow. Always getting brow spots on the leaves even at gemmation! I thought it was fungus so I have been using Neem oil, but doesn’t seem to help.
Welcome to the forum!
I think neem oil is for bugs. I’m a new grower but that looks like either a deficiency or too much of something. @MeEasy @kellydans can you help?
Need oil can be used to treat specific kinds of mold, but a dilute mixture of hydrogen peroxide is a safer and more effective way to go about it.
Welcome to the forum. That’s not a fungus it’s a deficiency. A little background on the plant would be helpful. I don’t have a link for asupport ticket but someone will send you one. Fill it out and post here and we’ll help you get it worked out. @MidwestGuy
Thanks for the tag @Flitme , hi @Dougmill welcome, I would like to know a little more about the grow more specifically the water in and out and what median you are in. I’m seeing a ph fluctuations issue
I saw you were tagged and just added another expert to the conversation. I’m not smart enough to say what’s wrong exactly but I know it’s missing something it needs either because it’s not being provided or like you say the ph is keeping her from receiving t. Nice to see all the willing people
Soil is Fox farm Ocean Forest, last grow with same issue was Happy Frog.
Plants are about three weeks old, so only giving Ph water with Bush Doctor Root Drench and Cal Mag added per the instructions. Ph is measured via the run off with a digital Ph meter. Ph 6.3 - 6.5, humidity 55%, temperature 77 F, light 2000W led with bloom and veg light on, lots of fresh air and movement. Spots started just a couple days of poking through the soil. I pinched off the effected leaves at that time and has been fine for about two weeks and yesterday all of a sudden the spots are back. Last grow had same issue thought out grow, but the quality was still very good. Yields were not so great.
Thank you so very much for the help and advice! I really appreciate it!
Three weeks, maybe they’re needing some food. Have you checked the ppm of the runoff that’s how ya know its dinnertime
I’d never heard of that root drench so I looked at it… how often are you feeding it?
Plants are three weeks old, so they have been watered about 2 times and will need water again tonight.
I used the root drench each time. Last grow I first used and the roots were amazing, but not sure if from the drench. Pots are 5 gallon, current plants are white LSD and northern storm. Before this was gorilla glue.
I have a dissolved solids meter, but I have not ever used it, not sure what to look for. What is a good reading? I thought since the soil is new it would go a few weeks before needing food. I have had life tip burn in the past. I plan to give 1/2 nuts tonight, fox farms.
One more fact, I use tap water that has sat out for 48 hours. Last grow I used D.I. water, but using tap this time to see if that was the issue. Looks like not so much.
I asked because on the fox website they said to use that drench every other week. You’ll need to test the water you are using I’m just guessing your ph is off the calmag is probably not needed. Sounds like you are going to have to go through the grow guides on the mother site to get the basics down I’d be here for ever trying to explain the ppm and ph process and probably miss something in the end anyway lol
I’m by no means saying I don’t want to help I just know you would learn more from the guide than I would be able to tell you and my info would be jumbled up. It’s nicely packaged in the guides that’s all I’m saying
Well said,
Thank you MeEasy! I have spent over 6 months to a year studying the growing of the plants in my free time. I am a great flower grower, have a green thumb or thought I did.
I control temperature and humidity for a living and l am a laboratory manager, so I do have a little knowledge, but not much world word experience with this. Last grow leaves were bad ,yield was low, but quality was better that the dispensary. I think I’m doing a lot correct, just need to nail down the leaf problem.
Any chance that leaf got wet?
When was the last time you checked the calibration of your PH meter? (A PH departure could easily be responsible FYI)
Could have gotten water on the leaf, but I’m very carful not to. Ph meter is calibrated, we do this in my shop daily and I verified my meter was with in +/-.01 using a very high end Ph meter.
I see a fluctuation in ph , that’s what causes that kind of marking on leaves. I’ll look at the guide for this issue
Nice, the grow journals will still be helpful. Meanwhile, I was told for the happyfrog I am using for my outdoor plant to check runoff ppm and when net ppm drops below 900 start feeding. Now that’s happy frog and using jacks 321 but the principal is the same. Check your runoff ppm.
Welcome to the community ! I’ve always been a soil Grower Outdoors ,indoors. The ocean Forest soil should carry the plants a few more weeks without needing to feed. The root drench added to water do you PH back to Sweet Spot before watering. I’m just curious I’m not familiar with product.
