1 down, 1 to go. Gave away my inexpensive Amazon blurple to my neighbor for starting vegetables indoors.
Replaced my overpriced Kind blurple with a HLG 600rspec a few weeks ago. Kind back in its box where it will most likely remain unless I get ambitious and find room for a bigger grow space.
Assuming cri is the same your final cct would land at about an average between the 3000k and 6000k. 6000k is pretty odd number though, I don’t believe I’ve seen it anywhere else. 6500k, 5700k, 5000k are more common and would all have that blueish eye piercing brightness to them.
Looks good anyway, I love that you went out and found something budget minded to fit factory drivers too!
wow, that is pretty cool. i have never seen open heart surgery on a blurple. That certainly has to take a little of the sting out of the original purchase price.
As you could probably tell almost instantly by looking at my workshop or basement, i am not big on throwing anything out that i may be able to salvage usable parts from (this is not always a good characteristic).
But it is a great reminder for all of us that drank the kool aid at one point and got one of these magnificent lights that if we are creative we WILL find a way to get some use out of them. very nice job!

Put all the blurples everyone here has together and do a grow? There would have to be enough watts for a great grow, just need a ton of extension cords and electric outlets

I have about 10 blurples collecting dust and 5 offbrand well 4 i use 1 for the clone tent but 4 offbrand qb boards that sit also. Lol. Qb boards are enfun boards with 240w drivers off brand not sure the name. I believe i have every1 beat on lights sitting in a corner lol.

I was so shocked when I found out about burples . I got some Colorado seeds in the mail , hit the old Amazon and grabbed stuff for my first grow ! I still use them for seedlings and veg sometimes but what a difference a real light makes !
