Greetings. A question for Blumat watering systems fans. When do you feed? We used the water-feed-water approach successfully in the past. Now on Blumat, when do you feed? Every 2 days or so? Autoflower, feminized, grow tent environment. Many thanks.
For a mature plant: feed as necessary to maintain a runoff PPM of ~1,000. Younger plants require less.
Are you talking about the cones? And are you growing in soil or coco? I wouldn’t see much need for them in soil, since they don’t really water/feed fast enough for runoff. They could catapault your soil ppms/pH. In coco, though, since it has to stay wet, they work. @BobbyDigital used them at one point, if he doesn’t still. I think they would be ideal for organic growing.
I use blumats i mix a res up once a week half dose of jacks 321 because its constant feed.
I’ve been curious about this. Trying to make watering less time consuming.
I got some blumats as stocking stuffers as well as a RainPoint auto water system.
Many thanks for the reply’s. We are growing feminized auto flower, Durban Poison in fox farm soil now in flowering stage, in a grow tent. . We are thinking of removing the Blumat so that we can go back to water-feed-water so that we can check ppm and tds more accurately. With the Blumat, we have to water anyway to get runoff and then adjust for ppm. The Blumat are great for when we travel, but we don’t have them dialed in yet for the soil testing and feeding schedule.
Hpu dont need runoff when using blumats only if you have problems is when you would water it to runoff then check it. Ph and chech your ec of your res and they will be fine.
Not if you’re feeding organic nutrients into your reservoir. It’ll likely gum up all the lines and carrots kinda like it does with hydro and organic nutes. I used them for a grow or two. They did alright. They were just cumbersome for me with the lines going everywhere.
Ya i meant living soil
