Well shit… Powers out and I’ve got no clue what to do.
Garden is really starting to fill out. Left 2 plants were are 28 days from sprout and we’re topped at 21 days from sprout. The right 2 plants are 21 days from sprout and we’re topped at 14 days from sprout.
I tried to do a little LST but not totally sure what I’m doing. I kinda like how the left 2 plants are growing and I’m curious if I can just get away with topping one more time and putting up a scrog. Also not sure if I top the shoots that came off the main stem again or top one of the lower nodes growth tips. Any and all advice is welcome. I’m really hoping to get 8 oz when all said and done.
Found this today. If anyone could tell me what it is I would greatly appreciate it. If not It’s only on one leaf on one plant so I’m going to pretend it’s not there for now. Watering day for the big plants is tomorrow and I have the new blue lab calibrated and ready to go so I’ll have a more accurate picture then.
Couldn’t wait to test the blue lab and watered today. They were both fairly dry 2 inches down into the soil and I’m ready to wash some of the calmag from my last mistake out of there.
Ok so operation haircut is complete. I tried to open up the canopy down to the center growth tips. Hopefully over the course of this week I see some enlargement on some of those lower growth areas.
Note to self on lessons learned so far, pH water from beginning, root riot worked well but I experienced slight nutrient burn upon transfer to happy frog at 1 week from sprout (possibly amend soil with neutral medium like coco), use 1 or half gallon containers for first transplant, 2nd transplants conducted at 2 and 3 weeks from sprout had roughly the same effect, topping at 3 weeks resulted in a bushier wider plant, calmag deficiency began on all plants simultaneously 12 days from transplant into FFOF (probably begin light cal mag feedings 1 week after final transplant into FFOF.)
Im set to watching, a couple of yours are starting out how one of mine did, Im interested to see how they turn out. Unfortunately I wont be much help as I too am running my first grow. And more people will be along. It took about a month before my thread started getting a lot of visits.
Thanks for watching man! I’m not too worried if a ton of people join in. This site kind of motivates me to document the grow so I can learn from my own mistakes as well as everyone else. Kinda like a diary my wife can’t find lol.
Ha! Good idea, I made quite a few mistakes, but thats the whole point of the first grow.
Doing some LST on the bottom left using some random yarn I found laying around. Everything else is being allowed to do its own thing. The 2 on the right were just watered and they look upset about it I don’t know why.
your plants look good. I am a new grower also so I cant be a lot of help at the moment. my journal over here has many of the same questions you had. If you want some of the more experienced growers to take a look at your journal just tag them with an @ in front of their name. Like @Hellraiser He’s been a great help or @Covertgrower or @Zee Ill be watching!
Thank you! The lack of symmetry from all the experimentation in my grow is starting to bother me lol. Once I pick some clones I like I’m just gonna go for 2 massive plants trained out to fill the tent.
I have 12 plants and they are all different size. It was part of me bungling my germination using rooter pods and screwing up the lighting in the beginning.
That’s mine after watering a few weeks ago, it’s normal I guess they always droop for a lil bit. But Jackie_Daytona is right on the money. If you ever have something you needed help with ask hellraiser… you should check out his thread too. TONS of info. Walks you thru the entire grow! Any lighting questions? Ask dbrn32
This is them now
Yes, hellraiser has helped me alot already. Beautiful plants by the way. Dark green all the way to the tips with the tiniest bit of burn on the end. I can’t wait for flower cycle. I’m super excited for the smells.
Dude…it is SO exciting, I can’t even put it into words…I could sit and stare at my plants ALLLLLLL day.
I am kinda digging the short term results from this LST experiment. 6 tops is quickly becoming 7 or more. Hopefully there will be lots of good clone material.
@cannabian @Covertgrower @hellraiser Ok so, the plant in the back right is 4 weeks from sprout a week younger than the left 2 and seems to growing completely different than the others. It’s about 19 inches and assuming it doubles in height at flower I can only really let it get 4 inches taller if I wanna leave 30cm or so for the lights after the stretch. My current planned schedule has me flipping to flower in roughly 23 days so that the youngest plants have a minimum of 4 weeks in veg. My question is can I top down the 4 overgrown colas and make it even with the other 2 and buy myself some time and get some clones while I’m at it? And if I do top it down how long will the new tops need to mature before I can realistically put them in flower? Any help would be greatly appreciated you guys thank you.
You can top the tops to keep it shorter or tie them over with some LST. If topping, give it a couple weeks to recover and grow new tops before flowering.
