Could be a calcium deficiency or too much K, I would say calcium,if you aren’t adding any I’d start, what’s your source of water.
Calcium deficiencies start in new growth leaves and tend to stay in one area of the leaf, leaf tip curling, brown spots etc are common indicators, treat this early and you’re golden
I use borehole water. PPM is about 120. I bring the PH down to 5.5 -5.8. I do give em plant magic magne-cal. It says 1ml per litre on the bottle but I give 0.5ml per litre.
Yeah, your plant may be digging a bit more for some nutes, soil ph is best at 6.5,and I’d up the Cal a bit for a couple of feedings, won’t hurt it a bit, you’d really have to lay into it to bother it.
Try it check it out, don’t over do anything, and relax , your plants don’t look that bad at all!!
Thank bruh! I’ll up the cal then. Next feeding is 2mrw. You gat any tips on how to reduce the pH of the root environment?
You can add acidic mulches to the soil to reduce ph Over Time ,but I’d recommend getting a soil ph kit before all that, I’d just stick with adding a bit more Cal for a few feedings and see what that does.
Keep the questions coming
I’m growing in coco coir. Could you elaborate on the acidic mulches?
Well that makes a Big difference, thought you were in soil, an organic acidic mulch would be something like composted manure or pine needles, you could look up different ways to flush that but, again, coco soil shouldn’t hold onto much only what you’re giving it,it’s a different way of Hydro growing.
Stick with the Cal supplement for now and remember sometimes less is more.
Remember to ph your water and see if you can check run off as well
Run-off is around 7.5 while nute water is around 5.8. The difference btw both pHs is a lot. But I’ll focus on the calcium deficiency for now. All signs seem to be pointing in that direction. Thanks
I had trouble with coco , that’s why I only use it as a buffer now, If you let your coco dry out , the nutes in it will become more concentrated during a check, try a flush of straight water first, that’s why it was proly high this last run off.
Stay with the Cal supplement for now, it should be better in a few days.
I think @BIGE can help you better with this than I can , good luck !!
@skinnieboi10 Your run off is 7.5 and your nutrient mixture is 5.8 that means your soil is super alkaline. I’d get something to lower your ph of your soil before you get nutrient lockout.
I would get the go ahead from an expert first but I’m positive your medium is too alkaline based on your numbers
I figured that. I’m thinking the coco coir wasn’t rinsed properly before I putt it to use. Is there something acidic I could add to the coco to neutralize its alkalinity?
Thanks @AmnesiaHaze but I’m growing in coco. I’ve flushed several times with PH water of 5.5. Any other tips to bring it down? My medium isn’t organic so adding organic substances might not breakdown quick enough cos there are not microbes in the medium.
There’s a solution, a radical one… transplantation in a good soil and get rid as much as possible of your propably inproperly rince coco choir … May be there 's a less radical solution, however personnaly, I don’t know Sorry
and sincerely good luck
Have you checked for mites? Check underneath the leaves you might need a magnifying glass
I’m a soil guy myself and I’m still a noob this helped me so if your problem is nute related should find it on here, sorry can’t give a bigger input
When you say you’ve flushed them a few times already, how much water have you used to flush them with each time?
thanks man. I already have both pics on my PC. Much appreciation.
