Blue Dream Noob Grow from DownUnder

They have 27 lt for $26aud or 38lt for $34aud free postage

Ive been looking for the opaque type cups but all clear. What i think i will do is get the small pastic pots @ .38c ea cut them, tape the cut and germinate that way.
Leaving the base untaped for drainage.
From comments and more reading i think i will go a potting mix of
30% organic potting mix
30% perlite
30% coco coir
Adding in some mushroom compost and worm castings
In fabric bags

I’m in Australia as well, first time grow for pain relief. I’m growing blue dream and blueberry both autos. Some states it is legal medicinal marijuana with a prescription but the cost is ridiculous about $1,500 per month. Anyway I’ll be following your journal. Good luck!

Good luck. How are you growing yours? I may have a contact for oil if u r interrsted

Indoors at the moment as they are young only 2 1/2 weeks, on sunny days I put them out for a few hours and the rest of the time artificial light. Does the oil have THC as well as the CBD? As I heard you need both for effective pain relief. If so I’d be interested.

Your are going to have some huge plants if you use 57 liter pots. If hiding trees will be a problem, maybe you want to try 20 liter. Those grow to be about 2 meters.

For medicinal use, I would grow a strain high in THC, and one high in CBD. Then try smoking each and mixtures to see what works for you. Some conditions respond to one, some to a mix.

Hi Flipper, I think shade cloth over polycarbonate roof sheeting would be far too shady. Not sure how much good light is lost through the sheeting. Worth a try but without the shade cloth.

Thx. Its spcial shadecloth thats coated in aluminium thats specifically made for vegetable growers. Its 50/50 but lets alot of light through. Ill see anyway. Our summers are very hot with temps passing 100deg F regularly

Hi Flipper01,
I haven’t heard of that shade cloth, I must check it out.
I know what you mean by hot summers. I’m also in Oz , sub tropics.
I’ve grown successfully under a roof only of hot house white plastic, plenty of ventilation with mostly open sides. I’m fortunate to be on acreage and normally grow outdoors however the medical Indica dominant strains I want to grow don’t like our wet seasons.

Try this

Thanks for the link :+1:

Its been a patiemt wait but after 7 days im getting growth. Started to get concerned after 4 days . I dont know if it was adding seasol or the rain but the showed after it had both the day before. Will have to read up how often to fertilise while they have just sprouted. Not sure if the 5th one will sprout though.

They’re looking good! Give em a few days and let them do their thing. They’re small and gentle, just be easy with them and don’t water around the stem.

Yay looking good!! It’s an anxious time waiting for them to break through the soil.

I guess i should look at nutroents to buy now. Thinking of going down the path of Advanced Nutrients PH Perfect’ micro, grow, bloom. Anything else u can suggest?

What type of water are you feeding with? You might want a calcium/magnesium supplement, depending. For sure if you’re using RO. And I’m not sure if AN uses a specific product to flush, but you might want that, too. Possibly something in their line for a bloom booster, if the ā€œbloomā€ doesn’t cover that. And I use yucca extract as a wetting agent, to help absorption.
