@Gronoob I usually spritz the soil a little bit around the seeding just to give a little moisture every other day but don’t soak it by no means. Your gonna do fine. ![]()

Copy that, I’ll watch my language.
You should probably assume that anything you post will be seen by everyone. That is how it works in just about every case. The difference in response to an individual post will be that whoever you are responding to will get a notification. If you just reply in the topic the only people who will get a notification are those who have set the topic to watching.
Also, you have to watch the language a little. If you haven’t seen them already, here are the forum guidelines
No worries brother! Anytime. The only dumb question is the one you don’t ask. Just about everyone on here is pretty chill and helpful. You’ll find some differing opinions, but even then, it usually remains a friendly discussion. No flame wars, usually ![]()
The big pranks when I were in were “go get a gallon of K9P” or “go get a yard of flightline” from supply.
I spray my plants with an aloe mix in veg, makes a huge diff…never spray your plants when in flower.
Just make sure you have plenty of airflow in your tent
So I have 3 separate grows going on here; 1 (hopefully) female from a seed I found in my Durban from the dispensary, 3 autos that I thought were all 2 fast 2 vast (10 days into flowering) and finally the black Widow & Gold leaf that I got from ILGM. I didn’t post the other 2 since I got them from a different website and they are 40 and 60 days into it already. My question is this; is it smarter to keep the autos in my tent that’s lit for 18 hours with a 400w (true watts) LED or should I put them in the 12 hour tent with a 400w and 600w HPS? The 12 hour tent has the lights air cooled and also has a fancier humidifier and an ac unit so I can really dial in the climate I want. The small tent climate is pretty good for the most part but some days the outside temp is higher and it seems like a change in just a few degrees jacks everything up. That is, when the temp climbs, the humidity plummets. If you need more variables to give an actual answer, let me know. Thanks for the help!
Right on, what’s your formula if you don’t mind? Also, I heard peroxide can be used to keep unwanted “life” from messing your crop? I’ve never had a problem with my ebb and flow set up but I just started a new batch of seeds in soil and I’m already starting to see some algae growing.
I use this in Australia, but sensi in the USA has an equvalent. You may be interested in this @monkman

While I’m asking questions, I got a $20 tds pen from amazon and I swear it’s broken, I’ve increased my nutes by almost double since I started growing and this thing has read ~400ppm since day 1. I see that wand from bluelab on a lot of YouTube growers’ channels but I just discovered that they make combo meters for TDS/PH/TEMP which sounds really convenient. I’m looking at this - http://www.ecogrow.com/hanna-combo-phectdstemp-meter-w-cal-check-hi-98136n-p-165.html - right now but if you guys know of a cheaper option that’s still quality equipment, I’m all ears. Has anyone tried those cloudline fans? The CFM isn’t amazing, but they look like the quietest “smart fans” I’ve seen so far. They look damn sexy too which doesn’t hurt.
that is really funny @Hungrybud. i was looking thru my bookmarks and i have this bm’d from another thread so searched for it today. looks like a good product.
Just stumbled into your journal: nice start and welcome! You’ve met most of the regular customers I see and got some great advice.
TDS meters are fairly simple and most of us use an inexpensive one that reads in American parts per million. You can buy a lot of $15 TDS meters for the cost of one Blue Labs. If you can afford it then by all means as it’s not money wasted. It will give you good service.
You picked some good strains and will find out just how small that 2 X 4 tent is in about 6 weeks lol.
Good for humans, good for plants ![]()
So do you think my water just happen to br around 400 ppm this whole time then? Or maybe the pen i have just happens to be faulty? I suppose theres not a ton of quality control at that price anyway. If i dont need to spend 300 bucks to get accurate readings then im not going to.
You can purchase some check solution which is helpful to know you are reading correctly.
Oh right on! Thats why you get paid the big bucks lol hopefully my hydro store carries that stuff.
I didn’t look for very long and this is kinda expensive but you can find something like this to verify your meter. I have 7.0 Standard Reference Solution too to verify the PH meter (even more important to get that right).
Thanks man but i found some good ol’ boy recipe to make your own tds test solution; its 1g table salt/liter of distilled water to get 1000ppm. I figure ill dilute it until i get a 125ppm solution. Im too impatient to wait on mail orders and money isn’t exactly growing on trees these days lol. Ill let you know how it works if my tds pen is not in fact broken.
