Sprayed. Not diluted.
Down to two babies. The Grim mints is gone. It was only growing one branch at most nodes, so she was an easy one to pull. So far the twice a day watering is noticeably smaller than the once a day.
Here are the fried girls. I might try and save the middle one. The 3 on the right looked like they are goners. Anyone think any of them are saveable?
@Low whats ur thoughts on the big ones? It smells like dried leaves in there. Iāll give them a week, but Iām ready to write them off.
It looks like just the leaves are affected?
The pistils and everything are brown on a lot of buds. I decided to get rid of the 3 on the right of the pic. They were the worst. Iām thinking Iāll give the last three another day or week to see if the rest of the leaves get brown. If they show signs of life, Iām hoping maybe i can prune away the gonner branches.
I axed 3. They were really brown. I turned down the lights on the last three to see.
Sheās trying real hard to survive. She would be really nice if i hadnāt burned her up. Sheās frostng up een though sheās pretty well been toasted.
Iām preparing to get rid of the last couple burnt girls, so i can get the little ones going on the autopots. How much would I need to chop off to try and get one to start reveg? I will have room in the tent for a while, so I thought I would try and keep one alive.
Donāt really want to try and finish flowering them now. The output is going to be small at best.
The chosen one got a transplant today. The backup plan gets to stay in the cup. First topping today. Will get her in her autofeed this weekend.
Flower tent is now a veg tent again. Little tent is turned into a storage area. Everyone is in their autopot now.
The backup plan solo cup got an autopot too. There is a pot sock filled with perlite under and around the cup. Wired the cup to the base. Covered the perlite with a piece of plastic to try and fight algae growth.
Cheddar cheeze got heavily trimmed. Will see if she flips back to veg. What the heck since I have room for her right now.
@Low @Budbrother @OGIncognito Hoping one of you can help me out. Still having res issues. The algae is out of control. I scrubbed everything Saturday when I made a new batch. Yesterday, i had scum/algae going crazy. I assume algae because it reacts when sprayed with peroxide. Iām using tap water with Jacks 321 full strength and calmag. Res temps are 65 to 68. The res is in a dark corner and its is a gray plastic tote, so minimum light in there. The lung room temp is 55 to 60 if that matters.
What can I do to try and keep my solution clear longer?
@low will hopefully have some insight, honestly my res looks like this near the end of a batch sometimes. I quit using wave makers due to the heat and thatās when I started noticing the stale look
Thanks OG. I was circulating with my chiller until the last two refills. I thought it was causing this problem, but the chiller hasnāt touched this water. The only thing i have is that little aquarium heater.
At work, so this is briefā¦
Heater could be a source. The concentrated heat around the device vs the surrounding temps. What are your temps without? Iād consider a bleach soak/circulation and scrub for minimum of 30 mins. Thoroughly rinse, consider filters at entry and exit points. This can help isolate problem components. Routine cleans with peroxide.
No guarantee thatāll work. Jacks is a mystery sometimes. Could also try what I do, dissolving Epsom first and adding it. Donāt add powdered forms directly dissolve each part separately.
The biggest impact for me was diluting dissolving each part, routine cleaning, thorough filtration.
Epsom - part a - part b
If you supplement peroxide do it straight into water before nutrients. Doing it after part a can cause a reaction with the iron if itās not fully dissolved.
My temps without heater are close to 55. I peroxide cleaned everything Saturday.
I have no moving parts at the moment. Just the heater and gravity feed.
The fill routine is
- Add 15 gallons of cold tap to empty res and 3 gallons of hot tap to bring temp up. If using any calmag it goes in before jacks.
- Mix part A and epsom in a half full gallon jug of hot water. Part b gets a separate jug.
- Once everything is dissolved, the part A solution goes in then the part B.
- Add ph down to 5.8.
The res sweats pretty bad because the lung room is cooler.
I would try omitting cal mag, try doing Epsom separately, and also try to keep any left over sediment from part a from going into the res. I used to mix Epsom and a together also, and successfully for a long time.
Ive dumped thousands of gallons over the last couple years trying to keep it clear. I swear they changed something from 3+ years ago.
Try to meticulously do each partā¦ even filter part a prior to adding to reservoirā¦ itās insane.
Tried all the ratios, tried mixing orders, tried replacing each part, tried hot water, tried alkaline water, bacteria products, intense cleaning, tried tried tried. I was dumping 30ā40 gallons every couple of daysā¦
I started mixing each part a few hours to a couple days before mixing final res. I mix each separately in 1 gallon containers. Part a gets mixed with a pump for a prolonged period. I went as long as 5 days mixing part and and there was still sediment left behind. I fill my res to around 50% with water before adding Epsom. Mix well and continue water fillā¦ Once filled to desired level I add in my concentrated filtered part a, mixing for 10-20 mins prior to adding the part b. I add this very slowly while mixingā¦ like the one gallon gets added over the course of about 2 minutes.
Since Iāve been doing it this way my reservoir has stayed clear.
Like @OGIncognito I stopped a long time ago using wave makers or anything similar.
Unfortunately if all this fails, youād probably want to find a different way to regulate those low tempsā¦ like controlling the room itās in, and insulating the reservoir.
