Big change 😆 because the healthy plant in the other earthbox was a male

Ok, I had ended up with a male. So,now the little female in the 3 gallon pot is growing a little behind due to my :person_facepalming:t2:lack of feeding but I’m getting her back right. Seemed to be smothered so I used a hanger to cut and hold branches in place.

Why is the straw covering the surface? If it is to “keep the soil moist”, I would rethink that strategy. Cannabis likes to (nearly) dry out between water/feeding when in soil.

Weed needs wet/dry cycles for proper root health.

He must be following KNF. It is explicitly part of the recipe.

It’s not uncommon to have a straw layer, especially with organic living soil.

“ This helps to accomplish two important aspects of good soil health. The first is that it helps to maintain the moisture levels in your soil. If you allow the top levels of your soil to dry out, then you risk killing off valuable soil biology in that upper layer that you have worked hard to establish. Secondly, a good mulch provides a great ecosystem for the larger biology in the soil, especially the worms”
