A whack at living soil

Got my third grow going on. First try at living soil. Wondering if the brow tips are anything to worry about.

Thanks for any help!

Indicating the soil is a little hot :love_you_gesture:

@OGIncognito has you covered. :v::blush:

Is this after a top feed?

Thank you! Is there anything I should do or just let it ride?

No its not but it just started within the past 4 days or so. Its going into preflower so I thought it might be time to topdress then reminded myself I have no experience with this so decided to ask first

Does seem like a minor nute burn. Strange how it did not do it initally. Normally you topdress based on pot size and type of soil. Based on your case i would not know when to feed them. With my ocd i would test some runoff to see my numbers. Since you dont want to waste the good stuff, just dump it back on top. Just get enough runoff to sample, not alot. Wish i could give a better answer.

Auto or photo?

Do you really mean living soil you want to keep alive to continually grow indoor plants in forever, or organic soil that you will compost/replace/amend after harvest and before the next grow?

Is your ultimate goal water-only, seed-to-harvest, or something else?

I didn’t know there was a difference honestly. It’s a soil I built after doing some research. My intentions were to have living soil. It is an auto flower, and more than likely my last auto before switching to photos and clones. And yes, my goal was water only. I have some girl flower power by natures living soil I planned to topdress with when needed

Folks conflate these things way too much, usually based on others trying to sell things.

What does that actually mean to you…what was your intention? You wanted what outcomes that are different than what you were doing by not having a “living soil?”

That is how I grow…autos in organic soil seed-to-harvest, water-only. If you don’t have any other concerns (like growing to sell, needing more than several pounds a year, etc.)…a few gallons+ of decent organic soil per plant/cycle, maintained with a good environment, will easily grow more than you need water-only.

A well maintained community of beneficial bacteria and fungi to help regulate the quality of soil

This is a great read for living and organic style of growing :love_you_gesture:

Awesome! Checking it out now. Thank you!
