Crappy gif, sorry. You get the idea.

After about 50 mins into the 2nd cycle. I need to closely watch from here on out, because it goes fast at the end.

I took it out earlier than usual, because this batch has a lot of excess moisture from being fresh/wet frozen. When there’s excess moisture, the oil will start to blob up/separate out and float to the top. This isn’t a bad thing, per se, but I’ve noticed if I allow it to process too far, the oil darkens more than usual. I ended the cycle the moment I noticed the separation begin. Notice it’s also a bit milky looking. That’s from the excess moisture, and possibly the THCA (the starting material was not decarbed). It could also be because I bet this is going to be some fire. The moisture will all evaporate away, eventually. No biggie. :grinning:

If I hadn’t have filtered it so thoroughly, I’d say it was wax/lipids/etc, but it definitely is not any of that stuff.

The rest of the QWET is now being Sourced.

This is 2 grams of CCO made using one Blue Dream cola, treated as live resin:

It has been drying/purging for 24 hours, now.

There’s still 2oz of fluid evaporating on a separate mat. This fluid was poured off the main mat 24 hours ago, leaving behind the oil above. I think the remaining fluid is mostly water, so it’s going to take a while to evaporate off. I don’t know how much oil is left in the fluid, but I plan on finding out.

That puddle is turning to diamonds with terp sauce! Undecarbed live resin extract! Who knew what I thought was mostly water left had this?!

I just washed 37 grams of oven-decarbed Sweet CBD buds. Did it in 2 separate batches, with each batch using 1.5 cups ice cold 190 ethanol and 18.5 grams of bud, with the ultrasonic cleaner set for 9 minutes.

Strained once with a sieve, then once through a coffee filter in the Buchner. Now, the solution will go into the freezer for 2 days, before it’s filtered a couple more times, then processed in The Source.

Oh, here’s what it looked like just out of the Source. Had to run a few batches. Here’s half:

An ounce of Blue Pearl buds and 1 cup of ethanol made this:

From top left, clockwise:
-Before starting the Source
-After about 145 minutes total processing time*
-Poured out on a silicone mat to dry
-The reclaimed alcohol
(the time stamp on the second pic shows almost 3 hours difference, but it wasn’t being processed that whole time)

Finished product: 5.5 grams.

Not the best yield, but the quality is bar none. For an ounce of bud, about a 25% return is considered excellent; that would equal 7 grams. So, I am 1.5 grams off the mark.

I did another wash, later, but mixed it with other stuff to make rso. So, I’m just going to say with that, I probably got the 25%. :grinning:

Great interview with Troy from Extractcraft. He’s a great go-to guy and excellent moderator/guide for The Source.
