Best way to vent a 10x20 grow tent

Probably like 20x25. I just know it can easily fit the 10x20 tent

What I actually do is this
I have my rooms in my basement
I cool and heat my basement as needed to maintain 72-74 degrees
I also have dehumidifier available for the high humidity days when cooling isn’t needed or enough to dry my air
Then I have a intake fan that supplies my flower room
4 inch fan with carbon filter as intake
For my exhaust I do not exhaust outdoors I recycle my air back into my basement
I have a six inch infinity fan with carbon filter for exhaust which automatically adjusts its speed to the temps in room running at a lowest speed when lights are off

My veg room is set up the same way

By recycling my air I’m able to maintain room temps in the 78-82 range with my humidity in the 50-60 % range in basement
I do keep a second dehumidifier inside my flower room so I can maintain different humidity levels in my flower room and veg room
My room average 10-12 degrees higher then my basement temp when lights on and will be same as basement with lights off

Getting up to about 200 square feet, would something like a 9,000 btu ductless start making sense?

Probably a little more costly up front, but I’m sure there’s operational savings. Also solves problem of condenser being involved. I just realized recently that you can pick these up in a "DIY’ package. I guess the lines are pre charged and attach via quick connects.

Hell yeah that would make sense if you have the funds they are easy to install
Providing you have the right tools and knowledge that is
A Hvac company may be needed to do a proper start up tho @dbrn32

Mitubishi has some real efficient equipment that will do both heat and cooling

You’d be looking at a couple thousand on equipment but you’d save a lot on utilities over a portable or window style

The mrcool DIY (Mister Cool) mini-split system is extremely popular with the garage crowd. It is basically plug and play, precharged, and you can pick up a 12,000 BTU unit for under $1500.

Mitsubishi is what we have in our server room at work, definitely a nice unit.

Before I moved, I was looking at a dual zone unit. I figured if I was going to do it, I may as well cool room and toss one in garage as @TommyBahama stated. Made sense to me anyway.

They have systems now you can do up to 8 zones one condenser with what they call a branch box
This also allows you to heat and cool different spaces at the same time
@dbrn32 and you can over size by 150 % on condenser 5 tons condenser you can put 7 tons of air handlers woohoo

@TommyBahama I’ve seen the units on Amazon they have some decent pricing
I don’t really recommend any because I’ve never used them so I can’t speak of the quality
But def good pricing

Yeah - I personally have Sanyo and Mitsubishi, but I spend a lot of time on the Garage Journal Forum and see the MrCool units are very popular and everyone seems very happy with them - for both the price and ease of installation.

Can you get away with that somewhere like Vegas? It regularly stays above 100 for weeks at a time. For instance, could I run a separate air handler for my grow room, with its own thermostat, and just use the single condenser? I see a lot of homes with 2 or even 3 condensers here.

Yes you can do that
