Best soil to start with?

Well said. People forget Cannabis is actually easy to grow.

@GrizzlyGrows coco loco is not coco its treated as soil just be aware of that.

Isnā€™t it like a mix of ocean forest and coco? So it has a water hold so you donā€™t have to water as much.

I mean Iā€™m down to try just coco if its pre amended. Aint got time to put it all together and would rather just buy the crap and out it in the bucket and then add my own nutrients when needed. I have no problem with soil but if hellraiser says coco is the future ill give it a try lmao I know its like hydro but screw hydro I dont wanna deal with all that water as reservoirs and all that crap im already all set up for soil

Coco is easy peasy just like soil only difference is you water/feed every day. literally daily watering thatā€™s it.

Almost any coco you buy in the marker will be low EC/pre washed, and buffed with cal mag but always a good idea to check. Mix it with perlite for aeration (min 30% I do 50%) or vermiculite if you want to water a bit lessā€¦
You can also buy some bags that are pre mixed 70/30.

@Breezy not if you have autopots =p
Lol!

Autopots and coco are the easiest way to grow.

I have a single pot system. Just havenā€™t got to use it yet. But you better believe that day is coming very soon!

Fine! You talked me in to it. XD

I just need to figure out how to make my nutrient solution fasterā€¦ Thatā€™s my issue with coco. I donā€™t have a whole lot of time at the end of the work day to do stuff and even though I love growing, it still takes me a while to get a feeding solution ready. I will admit I hadnā€™t been putting enough effort into learning more about nutrients and how I could make it easier, as I have been busy with other things recently too. Life catches upā€¦

I buy the coco bricks and expand them with Jacks.

I make a batch of water/nutrients every 4 days, 10 gallons at a time, takes me less than 10 minutes.

Donā€™t I need a way to keep the solution in motion too? @Hellraiser

Yes, will want to keep it moving. I use a wavemaker to keep it mixed and aerated these days, have also used an air pump/air stone or a water pump, but wavemaker is quieter and works great.

if you have it were you are Fox Farms Ocean Blend or Happy Frogg or their Orginal soil mix - not cheap - using these soils you can use JUST water for the first few months (organic soil) (Dr Earth)

@Hellraiser beat me to it but yea.
I made 25 gallons before I left to work. My girlfriend checks the Ph of it once a week. We top feed our plants for 2 weeks and then turn our bottom feed gravity autowater system on.

The only down side to coco is having to deal with run off if not in autopots.
But you could just bottom feed your plants manually I geuss

So how would you personally modify a 10 gallon jug normally found on water dispensers to accommodate the wave maker? Just not sure what to do about a lid if I cut off the top of the jugā€¦

Iā€™d just cut the top off and make it a bucket, to make getting water out of it an easy task. I canā€™t imagine that you would want to pick up and pour from a nearly full 10 gallon jug. Throw a towel over it to keep it covered or an upside down plant tray/saucer of the appropriate size.

Iā€™m in Northern Florida. When I went on the website I could only call or send a message. Maybe I looked at the wrong page. Live and learn.
