Hey all! This is my first time growing auto flowering strains. I’m growing in an indoor tent in my closet 36”x20”x62” with 600w philzon LED’s. And I was wondering what soil would be best to plant my seeds in once germinated? I’ve heard so many different and varying answers so any help would be appreciated!
Germinated seeds just need a basic seed starting potting mix (check your local Home Depot, Walmart, garden store). They just need something to let the roots grab ahold of to move to a more advanced potting soil once they’re ready. That is if you’re going soil and not soilless.
Thanks for the reply. I bought a seed starting soil already but need something for after that. I planned on putting them straight into 5gal bags but read that a lot of typical soils (FFOF, happy frog, biobizz all mix) are way too hot for new seedings and kill them or burn them so I wanted to avoid that lol. Could I put half of the seed starting soil and half of a finishing soil (FFOF)? And still be okay planting them straight into the 5gal bags I’m gonna grow them in start to finish? Or better off putting in seed starting soil then transplanting?
What are you starting them in? I went from solo cup of seed starter mix to 1 gal 75/25% (seed starter mix/FFoF) to full 5 gal FFoF.
You can plant directly into the final pot but watering gets more difficult. If you go that route I would suggest FF happy frog.
Canna Terra Pro is a nice medium, from seed germination to harvest.
Looks pretty good set up. How’s the results?
The plants seem to love it, especially during the young, fragile stages.
Nice! Sounds like a good technique.
That’s one good guide.
