i was hoping to start with a 2x2 and trying just 1-2 plants at a time. what would be the best set up and equipment necessary starting then? other than a good light, forget the fan and such for now? thank you guys for being so informative! love it here.

A 3x3 would be perfect for 1-2 plants. The best setup I’ve seen lately is the ac infinity tent and fan. Not much more expensive than the Amazon stuff

Go for a tall 2x2 or you’ll run into issues with the plant getting too tall on you. Figure you need room for the pot (10" for a 3 gallon pot) and room to hang the light (8-12") and space between the light and plant (12"-16") you’ll quickly run out of vertical space. I definitely wish I had more height. I got a 27"x27"… it’s a tight squeeze moving 3 plants around in. One at a time would be easy.
