Beginner indoor grow help

Mars hydro are good ones but I’m not going to tag any sites cause I’m the kinda jackass that would get in trouble for doing something wrong lol

this is my light setup in a 4x4 room all led bulbs came from the dollar store the 7 way e26 splitter came off Amazon as far as a site you can put quantum led board into Google search and find many sites. Read the specs and look a more than one site if it doesn’t sound or look right you will soon catch on it only takes a little bit of time looking to spot the posers vs the real deal

Nice setup buddy

It’s got its drawbacks I’m wishing I’d spent the money on a qb but it will work for now and after this grow I’ll retire the lights to my second tent for cloning

Horticulture lighting group, pacific light concepts, timber grow lights, fluence bioengineering, gavita are most of the major players in led game. I’m sure I missed a couple, but those are the products which others should be compared to. I believe all of them have 4x4 specific models.

I have 2 1000 watt(185 true watt) besteva in 4x4. Do fine. First grow so was told one is fine but doing watts per foot figured needed two.
I may up grade later but being my first inside grow wanted to keep costs down as I got my feet wet.
As air movement and such is just as important.
Two friends have mars and they hate them. And upgraded mid grow and one went with the same bestva i have and also loves them.

Wiakki queen. 3 months flower time im in first month

Keeping them about 15 inch off tops.
I’m new with inside grows.and feel keep it simple and lower in costs. Till I feel comfortable with it all.
But 2 1000 bestva in a 4x4 seemed to do just fine and only 225$ in lights for both. I set my goal at if i get a qp to lbs im more then happy on first grow.
Already ordered my king tut seeds for next grow.
Rock on

How long have you had the Bestvea… any issues with it? I’ve been looking at the 1200 watt version with a 240 watt draw. I suspect the heavier lights have better quality components and this one at 8lbs is about 2 or 3 lbs heavier than some others. I am still leaning towards a Grmoi GM600 which also draws about 240 watts and is a couple lbs heavier and has dimmers but costs about 1/3 more…

Quick question for the growers who have already harvested, @anon46981397 @dbrn32 @JoshawaM, what was your DRY yield like? I see on the amnesia haze autoflower it says 7oz/3feet squared and I was curious if that was wet or dry weight.

Breeder estimates are going to be on higher end of what you should expect. They also base that on having a full canopy that size and ideal lighting and environmentals.

Without an advanced training technique or long veg time I would say 2-3 ounces per plant indoor is a pretty typical dry harvest. The minute you start doing other stuff or having issues that number could go up or down pretty quickly.

If you watch my grow you’ll find out what my harvest is like I have yet to hit harvest yet probably 4 months off I’m only 9 days from seed

So in a 4 x 4 area with 4-5 plants we would get about 8-15 ounces? And when you say “doing other stuff” do you mean with nutrients, CO2 or something that I haven’t heard of.

5 plants in a 4 x4 sounds a bit heavy I have 4atm but ill be culling 1or two

I just finished a grow of Bruce Banner and had one (yes, 1) oz of dry weed.
I had many issues like heat, nutrients, high ph, sun spots, stupidity, North Korean interference and many other real or imagined problems.
I almost killed it several times but it made it. And I am happy with the results.
This was my first grow and I learned a bunch, mainly from the good folks on this forum. So I consider this a successful grow.
Next grow = 10lbs.

That seems like a giant leap there but what did your grow area look like?

In a 4x4, your 3 lights will work. Save up for your next grow. Go with qb’s.

Alrighty, with all the input I think we’re gonna get a 4x4 grow tent (haven’t decided what brand yet) with one or two 1000W BESTVA grow lights full spectrum, 5 plants (amnesia haze autogrow) each within their own 3 gallon pot SOG style. Is there anything I might have missed? Or improve upon? If I reduce the amount of plants will it decrease my yield?

By other stuff I mean keeping environmentally sound, feeding and watering properly, keeping bugs out and stuff like that.

5 plants in 3 gallon pots in a 4x4 isn’t really a sog. Your best bet there will be to do some light training on them to help develop the shape of plant a little. Your ability to yield will be based on having a full canopy, or not a lot of dead space in tent. Not necessarily how many plants you have in there. I think if you keep the grow healthy 10 is a reasonable number, but plus or minus a couple wouldn’t surprise me either.

I thought that was difficult to do with autoflowering strains because of the short vegetative growth period, any tips on that/achieving a full canopy?

Just to confirm, thats the dry yield? and if I did two of the 1000W lights would it increase the yield?

Probably a little, but having autos is going to be your limiting factor in my opinion. In anything other than a hydro grow anyways.

Also why I suggested light training. Some more experienced growers will actually get pretty rough with them just fine. But I would ease into that.

Thanks for your help, do you think other techniques such as cutting away some foliage, or topping would also improve the yield?
