New Year’s Eve, or as I like to call it, amateur night. Going to just chill indoors with the family. Wife’s probably gonna put the stupid ball drop on the tv so I’ll pretend to watch it. Maybe have some smoke to help with the celebration if I’m lucky. I’ve been a bit lazy with updating but here’s a peek at the plants from yesterday
The one in training is moving pretty slow but looks healthy. The other one was starting to touch the light so I had to raise it a few inches higher. I was in a hurry last week during a watering and left her in a direct line of fire from the heater. Had to trim off a few shriveled leaves but no major damage. I’m thinking it’s time to top this one. Maybe do that later today. Hope everyone has a great and safe celebration .
Sorry friends, I was already having a y week and saw a couple of words that I felt were a little excessive. Those who know me here know I don’t seek controversy or talk out of turn as a general rule. Silence would have been the higher road but emotion won over and I hit send. The practice of referencing history’s most sinister example so casually is in poor taste and thankfully remains unrealistic since no one’s actually being rounded up by the millions and “unalived “. I just think it’s better for everyone if that kind of rhetoric is expressed somewhere else and keep the conversation a little lighter. The extreme polarization out there in the world is really tiresome and I enjoy the fact that the forum is usually a place where people can get away from it for a moment and just enjoy normal conversation. Apologies for the micro meltdown and any potential hurt feelings.
You are not wrong @OverallQuill80, it is not enough we see it on TV, hear it everywhere we go one way or another do not need it here, this is time to check it when you enter the forum
Exactly, God knows we all have our opinions, but the world is bad enough! This ain’t the place, if they allowed it, I feel the forum would be divided just like society now. Hope y’all have an awesome Monday pharmers!
Thanks guys. People get emotional about this stuff, I get it. It’s going to slip into the conversation sometimes. I prefer checking it at the door too. I like it here and I’m not really about arguing with anyone here and getting labeled as one of the fighty little keyboard warrior types so mum’s the word is my usual policy. I believe that is enough of this subject though. Time to shift gears, get some plant pics and post an update.
I topped the tall one and worked the upper branches to prep for the net. Honey Teflon bandage on the stump and a couple other branches that kinked instead of bending. One has a wire splint. Little HST never hurts. Have a great week everyone.
A lower bud and a middle bud on a friend’s grow. I bet him anyone judging the pics would say two more weeks if it was posted up here. The kinda blurry one is the mid-upper bud. Opinions welcome, thanks.
Thanks @Twelve1 and @spankyjr1 . I was tasked with bringing the pocket microscope for a trich check at this week’s Friday evening man cave hangout. Last week my friend, the host, said he was going for basically full amber. Now he is experienced at least as much as I am and has been far more successful with his runs than I have so it was a bit of a blank stare moment for me as I wondered why go that extreme? Smart guy but we had to have a conversation about the amber signifying the THC has converted to a different substance and if he is trying for 70-80% amber then it would by default be lost potency in terms of THC. Basically growing ambien. I was able to convince him that ye olde 70/30 ratio was sufficient for the couch lock effect without turning the party into a sleepover. I had a couple different people playing cameraman while I grabbed the pics in app so none of them were really clear. These are the mothers of the ones in my tent btw. I agree they are pretty much all cloudy and probably at or near peak. Very few ambers still so I think two weeks is going to be accurate in this case.
I kinda made up the numbers. His words were “ full amber “. I also wonder how far towards that goal is actually possible. Thinking the buds would begin to degrade at some point, basically dying on the vine. I think I backed him off that cliff so probably won’t get to see what would happen.
I have my first round of clones (attempting anyway) done this afternoon. I had to improvise just a little. No leftover starter trays to be found here and a week from payday so I didn’t want to buy anything if I could help it so I’m going with the ice cube tray, small aquarium and an aluminum foil sun shade. Now I just need my daughter to bring me the “spider “ grow light so I can get them out of the tent already. Too crowded for my liking. I’m anxious to flip even though the “big “girl is a little scraggly still. The lower branches are getting close to breaching the canopy so it is about that time.
I kept the ice tray and kept it intact after all. The clones looked great yesterday when I handed them over to my buddy. He decided spur of the moment since I was there to lend a second pair of hands to harvest the RS-11. They are the original mothers to my plants and the clones that will continue the line. The top net was removed with some patience and a few buds popped off and the lower netting was sacrificed. They felt like ten or so pounds each when I was holding them up to be tied hanging upside down in the tent. My arms and hoodie were covered with sticky resin which drew a few looks at the grocery store stop on the way home. I brought home the buds that came off during the process and put a few out for a photo. Green lower buds and dark purple uppers. Wish I could give you better quality pictures but they are beautiful in person
